Every replacement order — brand chart or your own numbers — runs the same three steps. None of them takes longer than the sofa search you are replacing.
Step 1 — Measure the cover, not the foam
Measure the cushion cover seam to seam, cover flat and closed — old foam compresses and shrinks, so it lies about the size. Record width, depth and thickness for every piece separately (seat and back cushions on the same sofa are rarely identical), and note the shape: square, T-cushion, L-shaped, rounded or angled edges all cut fine. Step 2 — Pick fabric and density

Replacement buying splits by what the data supports, and we would rather tell you which route you are on than pretend one size fits all. Route one — measured charts: Hampton Bay, Martha Stewart and IKEA series have documented OEM dimensions, so you identify the series, cross-check two numbers, and order to factory spec — and This End Up publishes its own replacement-cushion sizes, so the same route runs off the official list. - Check the white label first — under the seat frame or inside an arm. Model numbers usually start with a supplier code (GLD, THD) or read like HD-xxx-xxx; IKEA pieces carry the series name stamped into the frame or on the underside.
- Work the receipt trail — Home Depot order history lists the collection name; IKEA accounts keep purchase records by article number.
- Read the geometry — metric-derived decimals (24.41, 18.25) usually mean a metric-designed import; whole-inch squares usually mean a US patio line.
- Fall back to the tape measure — measure the old cushion flat or the seat deck beneath it, and the numbers go straight into the customizer.
