Wilson & Fisher + Backyard Creations Cushions — Custom Cut
Two house brands, one story — Wilson & Fisher was Big Lots’ patio line, Backyard Creations is Menards’. The 2024 Chapter 11 emptied one channel; the other rotates its lines every season. Replacement cushions cut to your measurements, factory-direct.

What These Brands Actually Are — House Labels, Not Makers
Neither name is a furniture maker. Wilson & Fisher was the patio house label Big Lots sold for years — the 2017 catalog alone lists Hampstead, Palermo, Sierra, Tahoe, Fairmont, Pinehurst, Mesa, Sonoma and Ashford collections, all imported, all Big Lots-exclusive. Backyard Creations is the same play at Menards, where it still anchors the patio aisle.
House brands live and die with the channel. Big Lots filed Chapter 11 in 2024 and closed stores by the hundreds; its Wilson & Fisher lines are gone, with no parts program of any kind. Menards keeps official replacement cushions for exactly the two deep-seating series it currently stocks — in store, in this season’s prints. Every other series, from either brand, is a measure-first job. We cut to those numbers, confirmed before anything touches the saw.
| Know your series | Typical pieces | How to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Wilson & Fisher — Hampstead, Palermo, Sierra, Tahoe (Big Lots) | Deep-seating sets, fire-pit dining, bistro sets | 2017 catalog archive; Big Lots receipt |
| Wilson & Fisher — Oakmont, Westwood (Big Lots) | Sectional seating and 7-piece dining sets | resale listings; Westwood cushion sets circulate secondhand |
| Backyard Creations — Berkley Bay (Menards, current) | Sectional and deep-seating rockers and sofas | official replacement pads still listed |
| Backyard Creations — Allenwood (Menards, current) | Deep-seating with Lafayette Floral cushions | official pad listing; the floral print |
| Backyard Creations — earlier lines (Menards) | Swivel dining, chat sets, benches | label under the frame; Menards receipt |
Series names cross-checked between the 2017 Big Lots catalog archive and the current Menards listings; match yours with the label, the receipt, or a straight-on photo sent to the order desk.

What Official Replacements Exist — Two Series, One Store
An honest starting point: the only official parts anywhere are two Backyard Creations pads at Menards, and the specs are published:
| What | Published spec | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Backyard Creations Berkley Bay pad, 2-pack | seat 22.84 × 24.4 × 6.7 thick, back 20.87 tall — $149.99 | official; polyester fill; in-store only |
| Backyard Creations Allenwood pad | seat 23.5 × 26 × 7 thick, back 22.75 tall — $59.99–$69.99 | official; fiber fill; one floral print |
| Wilson & Fisher OEM cushions | no published dimensions | no program exists — the Big Lots line is retired |
| Market generic deep-seat pads | 24 × 24 × 6 | third-party generic, not OEM |
Those two official pads are honest products — for the two series they fit, in the season they are stocked. Every other Wilson & Fisher or Backyard Creations series has no chart at all. When the numbers below are yours, the fit stops being luck.
Generic 24 × 24 pads are real products and sometimes land close — but a Broyhill sectional’s modules, high-back swivel pads and fire-pit dining seats were never that size class. When the numbers below are yours, the fit stops being luck.
Pieces We Cut For — Both Brands
- Deep-seating seat and back sets — the Berkley Bay class (22.84 × 24.4 seats) rebuilt in real 50D foam instead of polyester fill.
- Westwood 7-piece runs — seats, backs and swivel pads cut in one fabric run so the whole set matches again.
- Fire-pit dining pads — Tahoe and Fairmont class tables: thin dining pads estimate from $103 in 50D.
- Sectional modules — measured piece by piece; modules that look identical often differ by an inch.
- High-back pads — tall backs in the 20.87–22.75″ official class estimate at $148 (24 × 20 × 5, 50D).
- Swivel and rocking chairs — rounded backs welcome; send the photo and we template the curve.
Measure First — Three Numbers, One Photo
- Width across the seat frame — rail to rail wherever the wicker is bare. On sectionals, number the modules (tape a letter under each) and measure every one; modules that look identical often differ by an inch.
- Depth front to back — front rail to the back of the seat area, old pad measured flat where the frame curves.
- Thickness at the seam — the side edge, not the domed top. High-back pads also need their height, rim to seam.
- One photo, straight-on — with the three numbers it settles series, shape and every question the order desk would otherwise call about.
Fabric Options — 119 Fabrics, One Flat Rate
Every fabric on the list prices the same, so the choice is touch and duty, not markup. For sets that live outside, the solution-dyed acrylic (Sunbrella-class) line is the standard — fade-stable through summers of UV and quiet under rain. Tech Fabric (waterproof, wipe-clean) suits covered porches and kids. Where the official Allenwood pad comes in one floral print, the same flat rate here buys any of 119 — and the price of your pad does not move.
Pricing — estimated starting at
| Piece | Size basis | Estimated price* |
|---|---|---|
| Berkley Bay seat, rebuilt in foam | 22.84 × 24.4, 50D @ 7″ tier | $176 |
| Allenwood seat, rebuilt in foam | 23.5 × 26, 50D @ 7″ tier | $188 |
| High-back pad | 24 × 20 × 5, 50D foam | $148 |
| Dining chair pad | 18 × 17 × 3, 50D foam | $103 |
*$45 make-base per piece + area at per-sq-ft rates ($26.31/sq ft for 50D at the 7″ tier, $24.56 at 6″; fabric flat at $7.43/sq ft — every one of the 119 fabrics the same rate). Official specs round to the nearest foam tier in the configurator. Rebuilds swap polyester fill for a real foam core — that is the difference you are pricing.
Frequently asked questions
Can you still buy Wilson & Fisher replacement cushions?
No — not through any official channel. Wilson & Fisher was a Big Lots house brand, and the Big Lots Chapter 11 in 2024 ended the line outright; no parts program ever existed. Backyard Creations fares better: Menards stocks official pads for its two current deep-seating series. Everything else is made-to-measure cutting.
What sizes do Wilson & Fisher and Backyard Creations cushions come in?
The only published specs are the two official Menards pads: Berkley Bay at 22.84 × 24.4 × 6.7 thick with a 20.87″ back, and Allenwood at 23.5 × 26 × 7 with a 22.75″ back. Wilson & Fisher never published dimensions; generic 24 × 24 × 6 deep-seat pads are the only aftermarket fallback. We cut to your measured numbers instead.
How do I know which series I have?
Check the label under the seat frame and the receipt first — Big Lots order history for Wilson & Fisher (Hampstead, Palermo, Sierra, Tahoe, Oakmont, Westwood), Menards receipts for Backyard Creations. Failing those, a straight-on photo to the order desk settles it; the piece types map to the series list above.
How much do replacement cushions cost for these sets?
The official Menards pads run $59.99–$149.99 with polyester fill. Rebuilt in real foam: from a $45 make-base plus area at per-sq-ft rates — a Berkley Bay seat (22.84 × 24.4, 50D at the 7″ tier) estimates at $176, a dining pad at $103, a high back at $148. Fabric never moves the number.
Why rebuild a pad that still has an official version?
Because the official two are polyester-fill, stocked in this season’s prints, and fit exactly two series. A foam-core rebuild holds its shape past one summer, takes any of 119 fabrics, and fits every series the official program never touched — including the whole Wilson & Fisher catalog.
How long do custom cushions take?
Made to order in 4–7 business days on the standard lane, 3–5 on the rush lane when the season is biting, then 3–6 weeks shipping to your door. Straight rectangles like these seat pads run toward the fast end of the making window.
