Description

Build Your Camper Cushion

RV cushions live a harder life than any house cushion: every piece is a seat by day, a bed by night, and a vibration test in between. Builders also varied dimensions every model year, and interior records are unreliable — the platform under the cushion is the only trustworthy source.

We cut RV cushions to your platform measurements — long and short dinette benches, backrests that fold flat into beds, jackknife sofa segments, corner-cut berths — in 50–60D foam that resists both sit-cycles and static sleeping loads. Straight benches go in as numbers; notched wheel-well pieces and corner berths go in as paper templates.

*One dinette bench (72 × 24 × 4 in.): $45 make-base + 12.0 sq ft × rate ($29.47 per sq ft, 4" 50D foam + fabric, all fabrics one price). Full sets are the sum of their pieces — backrests, sofa segments and berths price the same way.

For comparison: U.S. custom-configurator specialists’ 2026 listings run made-to-order cushions well above formula price once configured — and most only reveal that number after a quote request. We publish the formula above so you can check the math before you order.

Popular Camper Sizes We Cut

Dinette short bench 32–48 L × 22–26 D × 4" Frequently notched around a wheel well
Dinette backrests 24–44 L × 20–26 H × 3–4" Fold flat onto the seats to form the bed

How to Measure a Camper Cushion

  • Pull every cushion and measure the platforms — benches, backs, berths — recording front and back widths on any piece that tapers.
  • Notched wheel-well pieces and corner berths: make a paper template of the outline and send it with the numbers; the notch is a dimension, not a detail.
  • Backrests: measure as they fold flat onto the seats — the bed configuration is what the piece must serve.
  • Choose density by how the rig is used: 50D for weekend campers, 60D–65D for full-timing and nightly dinette-bed duty.

Fabric: Plan for Spills, Not Weather

Custom camper cushions construction close-up — foam core, fabric and stitching detail

Inside a sealed cabin the enemies are spills and humidity, not rain and UV. Tech Fabric — waterproof, wipe-clean — is the default for dinettes and high-traffic seats; breathable Cotton Linen suits dry sleeping berths if you prefer natural fiber. The foam is the long-term decision: sit-cycles and static sleeping loads are what kill RV foam, and 50D is the honest minimum, 60D for full-timing (the density logic is unpacked in our high density foam guide).

The RV Pieces We Cut

  • The dinette — long bench (60–96 inches, often slightly trapezoid), short bench (32–48, frequently notched around a wheel well) and backrests that fold flat into the bed.
  • The sofa and jackknife — hinged or tri-fold segments measured piece by piece in 50–60D foam that survives both sit-cycles and static sleeping loads.
  • The berths — rear corner beds with a triangle or radius corner cut, cab-over bunks with rounded front corners; notched and cornered pieces go in as paper templates.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell standard RV cushion sizes?

Yes — standard sizes too, in 3 clicks wherever a standard exists — though RV builders varied dimensions every model year, so the platform measure is the honest spec. Type any numbers, standard or not, into the customizer for the same instant factory-direct quote; nothing is warehoused, so nothing is out of stock.

What density foam for RV cushions?

50D minimum for weekend use; 60D for full-timing or nightly dinette-bed duty — sit-cycles and static sleeping loads are what kill RV foam, and density is the spec that buys resistance to both.

What size are RV dinette cushions?

Long benches typically run 60–96 inches by 22–26 deep at 4 inches thick, short benches 32–48, backrests 24–44 — typical numbers only. Measure your platform with the old cushions out; builders varied every model year.

Can I replace RV cushions without the model number?

Yes — and for anything older than a few years, you should plan on it. RV interior dimension records are unreliable; the platform under the cushion is the only trustworthy source.

What fabric is best for camper cushions?

A waterproof, wipe-clean woven — our Tech Fabric — for dinettes and high-traffic seats; breathable Cotton Linen for dry sleeping berths.

How long does a custom cushion take?

Made to order in 4–7 business days — rush production is 3–5 business days for a surcharge — delivered in 3–6 weeks door to door. Typical US custom shops quote 3–6 weeks for the same build; we publish the number instead of burying it in a quote.

Is a Custom Camper Cushion Right for You?

  • The model number will not save you. RV builders varied interior dimensions every model year and the records are unreliable — the platform under the old cushion is the only trustworthy spec. Pull the pads and measure; an order built on a brochure number is an order built on sand.
  • Unsure about color? Email before you order. Screens shift color and afternoon sun shifts it again — send a photo of where the piece will live and we will answer honestly how each fabric reads in that spot. Two minutes of email beats a wrong-color guess on a non-returnable cut.
  • Plan on spot cleaning, not the machine. Covers close with a zipper around the fill, so cleaning is a damp cloth and mild soap between washes — and the cover comes off for a full wash. The fabric spec is chosen for wipes; the washer is not part of the care plan.
  • Custom-cut means non-returnable. A cushion cut to your numbers fits exactly one frame on earth. Tolerances are published in writing (±½″, ±¾″ over 36″); anything outside them against your confirmed numbers is remade free, whenever the error turns up.

Made by the factory that ships them

  • Outdoor cushion factory for 10+ years — we cut, fill, and sew every order ourselves.
  • Every dimension you send is re-checked before a single yard of fabric is cut.
  • Made-to-order means any fabric, any piece, no minimum.
  • If we cut it wrong — outside the ±½″ tolerance (±¾″ over 36″), wrong fabric, wrong build — remade free.
