What Pottery Barn Actually Sells — And What It Replaces
Pottery Barn is the flagship furniture catalog of Williams-Sonoma, Inc. — upholstered sofas built around standard seat-and-back cushion systems (Pearce, Turner and York are the names the foam catalogs have listed for years running), plus a deep outdoor program: wicker and teak lines such as Torrey, Westport and Huntington that the company still supports with factory replacement cushions.
Here is the honest boundary of that program: the official replacement pages cover the outdoor series currently in the catalog, at official prices running $109 for a dining pad to $609 for a sofa cushion. Indoor sofas have no published replacement program at all, and a series that leaves the catalog takes its parts list with it. Nothing on either side publishes cushion dimensions — so official or mill, the numbers come from your tape measure. We cut to those numbers, confirmed before anything touches the saw.
| Know your line | Typical pieces | How to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Pearce (indoor) | Rolled-arm upholstered sofas and sectionals | arm profile + order history |
| Turner, York (indoor) | Slipcover-style sofas with standard seat blocks | label under the seat deck; receipt |
| Westport, Torrey, Huntington (outdoor, current) | Wicker deep-seating, chaises, swivel and dining | official replacement pages still live |
| Chesapeake, Palmetto, Faraday (outdoor, retired) | Sectionals, daybeds, armchairs | aftermarket catalogs; straight-on photo |
| Riviera, Corsica (outdoor, retired) | Deep-seating, double chaises, dining | aftermarket catalogs; straight-on photo |
Line names cross-checked between the official replacement pages and the independent cushion catalogs that still list retired series; match yours with the label, the order history, or a straight-on photo to the order desk.

The Official Channel Works — Until Your Series Leaves
An honest starting point: for the outdoor lines still in the catalog, Pottery Barn itself sells the replacements, and the record is public — Westport prices captured from the official replacement page in October 2026:
| What | Official price (2026) | Where that leaves you |
|---|---|---|
| Westport dining side chair pad | $109 | cheapest official piece — current outdoor lines only |
| Westport swivel papasan / lounge pad | $259 / $359 | official pricing, current outdoor lines only |
| Westport sectional pieces (arm, armless, corner) | $299–$399 each | a five-module run passes $1,500 quickly |
| Westport single chaise pad | $459 | official pricing, current outdoor lines only |
| Westport sofa cushion | $609 | top of the official band |
| Indoor sofas — Pearce, Turner, York | no official program | no published sizes — measure-first route |
| Retired outdoor lines — Chesapeake, Palmetto, Faraday, Riviera, Corsica | no official program | catalog gone, parts gone — measure-first route |
Official prices are listed to keep the comparison honest, not to undercut it: when your line still has parts and the fabric matches, that channel works. When it doesn’t — or when a $609 sofa cushion is the official answer — the numbers below are yours.
Generic 24 × 24 pads are real products and sometimes land close — but a Broyhill sectional’s modules, high-back swivel pads and fire-pit dining seats were never that size class. When the numbers below are yours, the fit stops being luck.
Pottery Barn Pieces We Cut For
- T-cushion sofa seat and back sets — the Pearce and Turner class of rolled-arm sofas; T-arms taken as a traced pattern or three numbers per piece.
- Sectional modules — corner, armless and wedge blocks measured one by one; modules that look identical often differ by an inch.
- Deep-seat patio sets — Westport-class seating: seat pads and tall backs cut in one run so every piece matches.
- Chaise and double chaise pads — hinge lines welcome; measure each section separately where the pad breaks.
- Dining and swivel chairs — thin dining pads estimate from $103 in 50D.
- Window seat and banquette runs — the catalog look is long single-piece cuts; up to 120″ wide in one run.
Measure First — Three Numbers, One Photo
- Width across the seat frame — rail to rail wherever the frame is bare. On sectionals, number the modules (tape a letter under each) and measure every one; modules that look identical often differ by an inch.
- Depth front to back — front rail to the back of the seat area; measure the old pad flat where the frame curves.
- Thickness at the seam — the side edge, not the domed top. Back cushions also need their height, seam to top.
- T-arms as a trace — Pearce-class T-cushions: trace the arm cut-out on paper, photograph it next to a tape measure, and the pattern is routine work here.
- One photo, straight-on — with the numbers it settles series, shape and every question the order desk would otherwise call about.
Fabric Options — 119 Fabrics, One Flat Rate
Every fabric on the list prices the same, so the choice is touch and duty, not markup. For the patio lines, the solution-dyed acrylic (Sunbrella-class) line is the standard — fade-stable through summers of UV and quiet under rain. For Pearce-class living rooms, Cotton Linen and Premium Velvet carry the slipcover look; Tech Fabric (waterproof, wipe-clean) takes the screened porch. Whichever you pick, the price of your pad does not move.
Pricing — estimated starting at
| Piece | Size basis | Estimated price* |
|---|---|---|
| Dining / side chair pad | 18 × 17 × 3, 50D foam | $103 |
| Sofa seat cushion | 26 × 24 × 5, 50D foam | $178 |
| Deep-seat sectional pad | 24 × 24 × 6, 50D foam | $173 |
| Deep-seat sectional pad, high density | 24 × 24 × 6, 65D foam | $191 |
*$45 make-base per piece + area at per-sq-ft rates ($23.36/sq ft for 50D at 5″, $24.56 at 6″, $28.95 for 65D; fabric flat at $7.43/sq ft — every one of the 119 fabrics the same rate). The configurator above figures your exact numbers live. For scale: the official Westport sectional pieces list at $299–$399 each — a full custom run in 50D typically lands well under that band.
Frequently asked questions
Does Pottery Barn sell replacement cushions?
For the outdoor lines currently in the catalog, yes — the official replacement pages list Torrey, Westport and Huntington parts at $109–$609 (October 2026). The program does not cover indoor sofas, and a series that leaves the catalog takes its parts with it. For everything outside that window, replacement means made-to-measure cutting.
What sizes do Pottery Barn replacement cushions come in?
Pottery Barn does not publish cushion dimensions on its replacement pages — fit is handled by matching the series. The independent catalogs that list the same lines (Pearce, Turner and York indoors; Chesapeake, Palmetto, Faraday, Riviera and Corsica outdoors) publish no dimensions either. The reliable number is your own tape measure: width, depth, thickness, and a trace for T-arms.
How do I know which Pottery Barn series I have?
Indoors, check the label under the seat deck and your order history — Pearce, Turner and York ran for years, so the receipt trail is usually clean. Outdoors, the current lines (Torrey, Westport, Huntington) still have live product pages; retired lines like Chesapeake and Palmetto identify fastest from a straight-on photo to the order desk.
How much do Pottery Barn replacement cushions cost?
Official outdoor parts run $109 for a dining pad to $609 for a sofa cushion. Custom cut: from a $45 make-base plus area at per-sq-ft rates — a dining pad (18 × 17 × 3, 50D) estimates at $103, a deep-seat sectional pad (24 × 24 × 6) at $173, $191 in 65D. Fabric never moves the number.
Can you match a Pottery Barn T-cushion with rolled arms?
Yes — T-cushions are routine here. Trace the arm cut-out on paper (or take the three numbers plus the arm width), photograph the trace next to a tape measure, and the pattern is cut to it. The 11-shape customizer takes T-cushion, L-shape and notched corners directly.
How long do custom cushions take?
Made to order in 4–7 business days on the standard lane, 3–5 on the rush lane when the season is biting, then 3–6 weeks shipping to your door. Straight seat blocks run toward the fast end of the making window.
