The Beverly case
Thickness & Foam for a 22 x 26
A 22 x 26 seat is lounge geometry — 26 inches of depth for sitting back, 22 of width that keeps the pad on the frame. Five inches is the working thickness; 5.5–6 for premium frames; below 4.5 the center dishes. On tapered decks (wider at the front), front and back widths are separate measurements and a trapezoid cut is the fix.
Density: 50D for daily frames, 60D for nap duty, with the grade confirmed alongside your dimensions before cutting. Backs for these seats run 18–26 inches high at 4–7 inches of loft — order them in the same run.
Some sizes exist in the library as scattered near-matches; this rectangle exists as a family portrait. The Beverly series — a Hampton Bay deep-seating line — runs its lounge chair seats at 22.5 × 25.75 × 6 and its middle sectional modules at 22.5 × 25.75 × 5.5, measured from factory originals: one decimal rectangle, two piece types, one production logic. For a Beverly owner the chart above is not a guide, it is the parts list.
The case generalizes past one brand. When a series standardizes on a decimal rectangle, every piece of the set lands near it — seats, sectional modules, sometimes the ottoman — and the practical move is to identify the series once, then order piece by piece from its chart instead of re-measuring every pad. Unnamed frames take the same path in reverse: measure one seat, check the chart, and a decimal match at 22.5 × 25.75 is a strong Beverly signal worth chasing before you measure the other five pieces.
Near rectangles: 22 x 24 and 23 x 26
This rectangle sits between two documented neighbors, and the difference is an inch of story. Twenty-two by twenty-four is the compact deep-seat module — Cedar Island and Fenton country, seats that trade depth for tighter frames. Twenty-three by twenty-six is the factory-standard deep-seat cut, the most-documented rectangle in the library. Twenty-two by twenty-six splits the difference: the width of the compact module, the depth of the standard one — which is exactly the Beverly build. All three cut at the same formula; the page you order from matters less than the numbers you enter.

Where 22 x 26 seats live: sectionals, recliners, and the 23-inch edge
Beverly anchors this page: the end-middle sectional and the lounge chair share the same 22.5 × 25.75 footprint and differ only in thickness — 5.5 on the sectional piece, 6 on the chair. Charlottetown runs one pad across its whole range (lounge chair, loveseat, patio recliner, all 23 × 26 × 4), Pembrey mixes 5 and 6 in the same series, Palm Canyon’s firepit chair takes 23 × 26 × 5, and Cambridge stretches the depth to 26.5. That spread is why the chart reads 22.5–23 wide, not a single number — and why “22 x 26” is a tier label, not a dimension you must match.
Width 23 is the fuzzy edge. The 23 × 26 Charlottetown and Pembrey seats appear in this chart and again on the 24 x 26 page, because a 23-inch pad sits inside both pages’ tolerance stories. The practical rule: measure, then pick by width — 22.5 to 23 stays here ($167 in 50D foam), 23.5 and up moves to the 24 x 26 chart ($178). Depth only decides whether you are in this deep-seat tier at all; below 24.75 the 22 x 24 page is the closer fit at $158, and a 22 × 22 square stays on its own chart. The square ladder climbs from there — 23 x 23 lounge squares on up to the 30 x 30 daybed square.
On sectionals, measure every piece. The Beverly end-middle is not the same pad as the corner or the armless chair, and one number assumed across the set is the most common re-measure we see. Thickness comes seam to seam, never squeezed — the 5.5-versus-6 split inside Beverly shows same-series pads can legitimately differ, and quoting the wrong one changes how the frame sits when you slide the pieces back together.
