What Tropitone Actually Is — Resort Grade, Catalog Deep

Tropitone built its name supplying resorts, hotels and pool decks — commercial-grade outdoor seating that later came home to residential patios — and today sits inside Brown Jordan International, the same group as Brown Jordan. The catalog is enormous: dozens of collections across cushion, sling and padded-sling seating, with the cushion lines built around the company’s registered RELAXPLUS® construction. Replacements are a first-party business: the official parts catalog lists over 340 replacement cushion pads by SKU, sold through the brand and its specialist dealers.

That official channel is real, and it has a gate: the specialist dealers who supply genuine Tropitone cushions state a $1,000 minimum purchase on cushion orders. Below that line — one chaise pad, two dining chairs, a worn ottoman — the catalog simply isn’t open to you. Custom cutting has no gate: per-piece make-base, 119 fabrics at one flat rate, cut to your measurements.

The two crescent ottoman bench sizes Tropitone furniture takes — 49 × 26 and 38 × 24 inches — are among the few dimensions the channels publish at all (in the product names themselves). Everything else routes through SKU lookups; there is no public dimension chart.

Measure First — Three Numbers, One Photo

Seat width, inside arm to inside arm — on the slim aluminum frames Tropitone uses, measure pad-to-pad width where the seat deck meets the arms, not across the outside of the frame tubes.
Depth front to back — front edge of the seat to the backrest. On chaises, measure the flat deck length in two segments if the back reclines.
Thickness at the seam — RELAXPLUS-style pads read thin at the seam and loft on top; measure the seam edge. If you want a plusher build, say so — thickness is your call.
One photo, straight-on — with the numbers it identifies the collection and settles every question the order desk would otherwise call about. Crescent and curved pieces get a traced seam line, same as any curve.

Curved and Crescent Pieces — Routine, Not Exotic

Resort seating leans on curves: crescent ottoman benches in the two published sizes (49 × 26 and 38 × 24), curved sectionals, radius chaise pads. Universal pads ignore all of it. A custom mill templates the curve off three numbers and a traced seam line — the crescent bench pad above estimates at $306 in 50D, against $1,050 for the discontinued-line genuine piece.

Resort furniture lives in the hardest sun there is, so the standard here is solution-dyed acrylic (Sunbrella-class) — fade-stable through poolside summers, quiet under rain, mildew-resistant when the cover stays on too long. All 119 fabrics price at one flat rate, and swatches ship free before you commit. Match the original stripe or leave it behind — either way the price of the pad doesn’t move.

Two channels exist. My collection is discontinued — can I still get cushions?

Often not through the official channel, and always through ours. Custom cutting doesn’t care what the catalog says — your three measurements replace the SKU.

Made to order in 4–7 business days, or 3–5 on the rush lane when the season is biting, then shipping in 3-6 weeks, roughly half the wait typical US custom shops quote door to door — straight rectangles run toward the fast end, and traced curves for crescent pieces add only a day or two.
