Build Your 24 x 24 Cushion
Twenty-four inches square is the defining size of outdoor deep seating — the standard module on lounge chairs, sectionals, and wide patio swivel frames. It is also the single most-searched cushion size in America, which tells you two things at once: a lot of furniture was built around it, and a lot of that furniture is now old enough to need new pads. Stock 24-inch squares exist everywhere, yet they fit almost nothing exactly, because each factory cut its pads to its own frame — a “24 inch” original can measure 24.41, 24.25, or exactly 24.
We cut every 24 x 24 outdoor cushion to the measurements you send — width, depth, and thickness — in three fabric tiers: Tech Fabric, our leather-like waterproof weave that wipes clean — the outdoor workhorse; Cotton Linen, a durable everyday weave for covered patios and indoors; or Premium Velvet, plush claw-resistant velvet for indoor luxury. Our measurement library holds seven factory-originals at this square across the Lily Bay, Windsor, Riley, and Beachside series, so replacement buyers can cross-check before ordering. Sewn to the quarter inch by the factory that ships it.
This page is the hub of the 24-inch family. If your frame measures close but not exact, the neighboring squares keep their own charts: 22 x 22 for compact lounge chairs, 24 x 24 patio and 24 x 24 chair for the same square by the phrase you searched, 25 x 25 and 26 x 26 for the oversized run, and rectangles at 24 x 26 and 23 x 26 when the deck runs deeper than a square. Families of furniture cluster around this module; measure first, then let the charts confirm.
Pricing — estimated starting at
| Fabric tier | Estimated price* |
|---|---|
| Cotton Linen | $115 |
| Tech Fabric | $141 |
| Premium Velvet | $175 |
*One cushion, 24 × 24 in. (4.00 sq ft top surface): $39 make-base + 4.00 sq ft × fabric rate ($19.0/sq ft, $25.5/sq ft, $34.0/sq ft). Thickness, foam density, and the sewn closure is confirmed at checkout — and every dimension is confirmed with you before we cut.
For comparison: U.S. custom-configurator specialists’ 2026 listings for made-to-order cushions in common sizes (16×16 through 24×24) run roughly $71–$119 before shipping — and most only reveal that price after a quote request. We publish the formula above so you can check the math before you order.

Yours differs? That’s the point — we cut to your numbers.
Measure your 24 x 24 seat
- Old cushion flat on a table: width edge to edge, depth front to back, thickness seam to seam — never squeezed.
- No old cushion? Measure the seat deck between the frame rails and arms, and send the raw numbers rather than rounding.
- Photograph the label under the frame first — a model number can match you to a documented series chart in seconds.

Fabrics that suit a 24 x 24
Open-deck duty defaults to Tech Fabric — waterproof, wipe-clean, and tolerant of the sun a 24-inch square catches all afternoon. Cotton Linen belongs under cover: covered patios, screened rooms, and indoor deep seats, where its tighter weave earns its keep. Premium Velvet is the indoor-luxury tier, plush and claw-resistant, for the reading chair that lives inside. The honest climate-by-climate comparison, including what actually kills fabric by region, is in the outdoor fabric guide.

Thickness and loft at 24 x 24
A 24-inch square is the defining deep-seating module, and thickness is what separates the builds. Three inches is dining duty — it exists, but it undersells the frame. Five inches is the standard the furniture was designed around: seat height, back pitch, and the gap your knees expect all assume it. Six inches is the plush tier for frames that get naps, not conversations. Below 4.5 on a daily-use lounge chair, most foams dish inside a season, and the pad starts sliding toward the front rail.
Backs are their own decision. A back cushion in this family of frames usually runs the seat width and 18–26 inches high, with 4–7 inches of loft, often cut as a wedge — thicker at the bottom, where the frame’s recline leaves a gap. Measure loft at the top and the bottom separately, and order seats and backs in one run so the loft and the dye lot agree across the set.
Ordering 24 x 24 cushions as a set
Most 24-inch squares do not travel alone. Deep-seating sets run four to six seats; sectionals run three to five blocks plus a corner; firepit groups run four seats and an ottoman. Search behavior agrees with the furniture: “set of 4” and “set of 6” qualifiers ride along with this square more often than with any other. We cut sets the way sets should be cut — every piece from one fabric run, one foam grade, one production batch, so the pieces match in loft and in color.
Practical notes for set orders: enter each piece type once and set the quantity, or list every module individually when they differ — sectionals with a corner wedge or a chaise end are not six identical squares, and the order form treats them as the pieces they are. Mixed runs are normal: four seats, two backs, and an ottoman travel on one order, each priced on its own area at the same formula. And if half the set is sound, replace in symmetry pairs at minimum — a new pad next to a settled one shows at the loft line, and staging by piece type keeps the mismatch from sitting side by side.
