Build Your 25 x 25 Cushion
The 25-inch square is the odd module between the 24 deep-seating standard and the oversized 26 — and it’s a real factory size, not a rounding error: several Hampton Bay series cut their lounge and sofa seats at exactly 25 x 25, as the library table below shows. If your set measures 25, ordering 24 stock pads leaves a gap at every corner that collects debris and shifts underfoot.
We cut every 25 x 25 outdoor cushion to your measurements — width, depth, thickness — in three fabric tiers, from Tech Fabric, our waterproof, wipe-clean leather-like workhorse, to Premium Velvet, plush claw-resistant velvet. Five inches is the working thickness for deep seating; 4″ suits tailored profiles. High-density foam upgrades to 65D are available, one cushion or a full set.

Pricing — estimated starting at
| Fabric tier | Estimated price* |
|---|---|
| Cotton Linen | $122 |
| Tech Fabric | $150 |
| Premium Velvet | $187 |
*One cushion, 25 × 25 in. (4.34 sq ft top surface): $39 make-base + 4.34 sq ft × fabric rate ($19.0/sq ft, $25.5/sq ft, $34.0/sq ft). Thickness, foam density, and the sewn closure is confirmed at checkout — and every dimension is confirmed with you before we cut.
For comparison: U.S. custom-configurator specialists’ 2026 listings for made-to-order cushions in common sizes (16×16 through 24×24) run roughly $71–$119 before shipping — and most only reveal that price after a quote request. We publish the formula above so you can check the math before you order.

Yours differs? That’s the point — we cut to your numbers.
Measure your 25 x 25 seat
- Old cushion flat on a table: width edge to edge, depth front to back, thickness seam to seam — never squeezed.
- No old cushion? Measure the seat deck between the frame rails and arms, and send the raw numbers rather than rounding.
- Photograph the label under the frame first — a model number can match you to a documented series chart in seconds.

Fabric choices at 25 x 25
Deep-seating pads are the patio’s most-exposed surfaces after the chaise. Tech Fabric for open sets (waterproof, wipe-clean), Cotton Linen under cover, Premium Velvet indoors. For the honest brand-name comparison see Sunbrella-grade performance tiers; the full tier logic is in the outdoor fabric guide.

Thickness picks for a 25 x 25
Thickness & Foam for a 25 x 25
Twenty-five inch squares are deep-seating stock — the seat module of standard lounge chairs and loveseat blocks. Five inches is the thickness that earns the depth; 6 is the plush tier; below 4.5 the pad dishes between seams long before the cover shows wear. Back cushions on these frames carry their own 4–7 inch loft and often a wedge profile.
Density is the multi-year decision: 50D for daily lounging, 60D for nap-grade frames, 65D for mattress duty. Order the set in one run — seats, backs, ottomans — so loft and dye lot agree across every block.
Twenty-five-inch squares are deep-seating geometry, and the thickness ladder is the whole comfort decision. The documented originals at this square — Miramar, Monticello, Pacific Grove — left the factory at five inches, which is the strongest evidence there is: the frames were built to that seat height.
One caution at the top of the ladder: six inches changes the geometry — arms sit lower relative to the seat, the back rail may need its loft rethought, and getting on and off becomes a different movement. Five is the number that restores; six is the number that redesigns.
| Thickness | Where it belongs | The honest trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| 3″ | Never, on a true 25-inch deck | Undersells the frame; dishes within a season of daily use |
| 4″ | Tailored profiles, covered patios | Firmer sit; keeps a low-slung frame looking deliberate |
| 5″ | The factory standard at this square | The thickness the seat height was designed around |
| 6″ | Plush builds, nap-grade frames | Raises seat height; check arm and back rail clearance |
25 x 25 on loveseats
Loveseats at this scale take two squares end to end or one joined pad — and the library says two: the Monticello and Woodbury loveseat seats are charted as their own measured pieces, cut per seat. Two pads rotate and flip individually, which spreads the wear that always concentrates on the side people favor; one joined pad cannot. The gap between two squares is a seam line, not a defect — deep-seating loveseats were built with a mid-rail under it.
If the deck is truly one unbroken surface with no mid-rail, a joined 50-inch pad is the right build — send the full deck number and note the one-piece construction; it prices as its own area, same formula.
