The Riley line at a glance
Riley is Hampton Bay’s slim-profile sectional line from Home Depot: a five-seat modular sectional and a matching lounge chair, every cushion a uniform 3.5 inches thick. That tailored, low-slung look is the point of the line — and it’s also why a standard 5-inch replacement pad turns a Riley sectional into a overstuffed sofa that no longer fits under the coffee table.
We cut every Riley piece to the original factory dimensions below — per module or as the full nine-piece sectional set — in cotton linen, tech fabric, or premium velvet, straight from the factory that ships them.
Check three things: (1) the white label under the seat frame or inside the arm — Hampton Bay model numbers usually start with a supplier code like GLD or THD; (2) your Home Depot order history or the original manual; (3) a tape measure — a uniform 3.5" profile on every cushion — the slimmest consistent line in the Hampton Bay range. Our full measuring guide walks you through it.
Stripes, solids and the nine-pad grid
A five-seat sectional is nine separate cushions — five seats, four backs — and pattern choice decides how those nine read as one sofa. Solids are effortless: every pad is identical, and any pad can sit anywhere. Stripes introduce geometry. Each pad is cut individually, so for the pattern to travel across the run, the pieces need to be cut and laid in a consistent orientation. Our practical preference for the Riley’s 24-inch modules: run stripes front-to-back along the seat depth rather than sideways across the width. Depth-wise stripes repeat cleanly from module to module, while sideways stripes stack into a ladder that exaggerates every seam.
The 3.5-inch profile, slim as it looks, carries daily benefits that thick pads cannot match. Each cushion is light enough to flip one-handed, so rotating and airing the set takes minutes, and at season’s end the whole grid stacks into a storage bench or shelf at a fraction of the volume of 5-inch equivalents. Slimness is not a compromise here; it is the design.
On the five-and-four count: the published configuration runs one position without its own back pad — typically the end deck that serves as the stretch-out seat. If your set was configured differently at purchase, the pads themselves are all the same two rectangles, so extra or fewer pieces are simply a matter of counting your own modules and ordering to that number.
There is a hidden dividend to nine identical rectangles: because every seat pad matches every other and every back matches every back, rearranging the sectional costs nothing. Turn the run from a straight line into an L, split it into two facing banks, pull one module out as a standalone chair — the cushions move with the plan. Re-cushioning is the natural moment to rethink the layout you actually use versus the one the showroom suggested.

Measure before you order
Three minutes and a tape — that and our measuring guide — on a sectional, measure every module, not just one, and count seats and backs separately: configurations varied across production runs.
Closest Hampton Bay neighbors in the measured database: Mill Valley (the Mill Valley sectional) and Beachside (the Beachside section) — each with its own dimension chart. Other frames start at the complete Hampton Bay replacement cushions index.
Fabric options & estimated pricing

Frequently asked questions
The published configuration is five 24" × 24" × 3.5" seats and four 24" × 17.5" × 3.5" backs — nine pieces. Count yours before ordering; module counts varied by set.
It’s the line’s design: a uniform 3.5" profile for a low, tailored silhouette. Don’t substitute 5" pads — the seat height and the whole look change.
Yes. Every pad is cut to order — replace one worn module or the full set, and we dye-match every fabric across batches as closely as the mill allows.
Budget 286 at the low end and 306 at the top for the lounge chair (complete, all cushions) across 35D to 65D foam densities — every fabric, one price. Your confirmed quote precedes any cutting.
Lead time runs a 4-7 business-day make-and-ship window: 4–7 business days as standard, or 3–5 when you select rush production, plus shipping. The 3–5 day rush applies to the majority of fabrics.
Absolutely. Attach your set photo (old cushions included when possible) to the quote request; the figures you send are compared with the Riley chart before any cutting.
Reasons to order from the factory
- Factory-direct. We run the outdoor cushion factory, so every Riley order is cut, filled, and sewn by our own bench — no resellers, no dropship.
- Foam density 35–65D. Every seat is filled firm — high-resilience cores that hold the edge, softer than the flattened pads they replace and cut for outdoor seasons.
- No minimums on made-to-order work. Any piece, any fabric, from one cushion up to the full run.
- Cut within ± ½ inch, stated in writing. Before cutting, your numbers are confirmed against this chart; anything outside tolerance is remade on us.
