Build Your 25 x 25 Cushion
The 25-inch square is the odd module between the 24 deep-seating standard and the oversized 26 — and it’s a real factory size, not a rounding error: several Hampton Bay series cut their lounge and sofa seats at exactly 25 x 25, as the library table below shows. If your set measures 25, ordering 24 stock pads leaves a gap at every corner that collects debris and shifts underfoot. The square ladder around this one: the 23 x 23 lounge square below the 24 standard, the 30 x 30 daybed square past the oversized run.
We cut every 25 x 25 outdoor cushion to your measurements — width, depth, thickness — in three fabric families, all one price, from Tech Fabric, our waterproof, wipe-clean leather-like workhorse, to Premium Velvet, plush claw-resistant velvet. Five inches is the working thickness for deep seating; 4″ suits tailored profiles. High-density foam upgrades to 65D are available, one cushion or a full set.
Close but not exactly 25 x 25? Type your numbers — decimals included — and the estimate updates as you go →
Odd squares one step up? 27 x 27 outdoor cushions anchors the same honest pricing for the oversized tier — and 23 x 23, 30 x 30, and 20 x 24 siblings sit in the related list below.
Pricing — estimated starting at
| Foam density | 5 in. — standard | 6 in. — plush |
|---|---|---|
| 35D foam | $174 | $178 |
| 50D foam | $179 | $184 |
| 65D foam | $192 | $203 |
*One cushion, 25 × 25 in. (4.34 sq ft top surface): $45 make-base + 4.34 sq ft × combined foam + fabric rate ($29.81/sq ft in 35D, $30.79 in 50D, $33.80 in 65D, at the 5-inch standard; the 6-inch plush tier runs $178 / $184 / $203 across the same densities). Fabric choice never moves the number — all 119 sit at one price, and the from-152 entry runs 35D at the thinnest 2-inch cut. You settle thickness at checkout; every dimension comes back to you for confirmation before cutting.
As a yardstick: U.S. specialists running custom configurators priced made-to-order cushions for common sizes (16×16 through 24×24) around $71–$119 before shipping in 2026 — numbers most buyers only see after asking for a quote. We do the opposite: each line of the estimate maps to a size a tape measure can verify.

Measure your 25 x 25 seat

- With the old cushion on a flat surface, take width edge-to-edge, depth front-to-back, and thickness along the seam line. Never measure a pad while it is squeezed.
- No old cushion? Measure the seat deck between the frame rails and arms, and send the raw numbers rather than rounding.
- Photograph the label under the frame first — a model number can match you to a documented series chart in seconds.

Fabric choices at 25 x 25
Deep-seating pads are the patio’s most-exposed surfaces after the chaise. Tech Fabric for open sets (waterproof, wipe-clean), Cotton Linen under cover, Premium Velvet indoors. For the honest brand-name comparison see Sunbrella-grade performance tiers; the full tier logic is in the outdoor fabric guide.

Thickness picks for a 25 x 25
Thickness & Foam for a 25 x 25
Twenty-five inch squares are deep-seating stock — the seat module of standard lounge chairs and loveseat blocks. Five inches is the thickness that earns the depth; 6 is the plush tier; below 4.5 the pad dishes between seams long before the cover shows wear. Back cushions on these frames carry their own 4–7 inch loft and often a wedge profile.
Density is the multi-year decision: 50D for daily lounging, 60D for nap-grade frames, 65D for mattress duty. Order the set in one run — seats, backs, ottomans — so loft and dye lot agree across every block.
Twenty-five-inch squares are deep-seating geometry, and the thickness ladder is the whole comfort decision. The documented originals at this square — Miramar, Monticello, Pacific Grove — left the factory at five inches, which is the strongest evidence there is: the frames were built to that seat height.
One caution at the top of the ladder: six inches changes the geometry — arms sit lower relative to the seat, the back rail may need its loft rethought, and getting on and off becomes a different movement. Five is the number that restores; six is the number that redesigns.
| Thickness | Where it belongs | The honest trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| 3″ | Never, on a true 25-inch deck | Undersells the frame; dishes within a season of daily use |
| 4″ | Tailored profiles, covered patios | Firmer sit; keeps a low-slung frame looking deliberate |
| 5″ | The factory standard at this square | The thickness the seat height was designed around |
| 6″ | Plush builds, nap-grade frames | Raises seat height; check arm and back rail clearance |
25 x 25 on loveseats
Loveseats at this scale take two squares end to end or one joined pad — and the library says two: the Monticello and Woodbury loveseat seats are charted as their own measured pieces, cut per seat. Two pads rotate and flip individually, which spreads the wear that always concentrates on the side people favor; one joined pad cannot. The gap between two squares is a seam line, not a defect — deep-seating loveseats were built with a mid-rail under it.
If the deck is truly one unbroken surface with no mid-rail, a joined 50-inch pad is the right build — send the full deck number and note the one-piece construction; it prices as its own area, same formula.

Frequently asked questions
Is 25 x 25 close enough to 24 x 24?
No — an inch of play shows at all four corners of a square pad. The good news: 25 costs the same as 24 here, because everything is cut to order.
Which Hampton Bay sets use a 25 x 25 seat?
The library table above lists every series measured within three-quarters of an inch — click through for the piece-by-piece charts.
What thickness for a 25 x 25 lounge seat?
5″ is the factory standard at this size; 6″ for plush profiles. Match your old pad’s side measurement to keep seat height unchanged.
Which Hampton Bay series use 25 x 25 seats?
Several — Melbourne’s lounge chair runs 24 × 25, Verrado’s club chairs 24 × 25, Middletown’s lounge 24 × 25.5, and the Martha Stewart side runs its own near-squares (Lily Bay, Miramar, Cedar Island). The fits table below lists every documented piece; click through for the full chart.
Should loveseat seats be one pad or two?
Replace like with like: pull the old cushion — one joined deck or two blocks — and match the original build. Two blocks rotate individually; one joined deck has no mid-seam. Either way, order the pair from one fabric run.
Is 25 x 25 x 5 a real factory size?
Yes — it is documented in our measurement library, not estimated: Miramar lounge chairs, Monticello lounge and sofa seats, and Pacific Grove lounge seats all left their factory at 25 × 25 × 5, measured from the original pieces. If your frame is one of these lines, the series chart under each link holds every piece of the set.
