The West Park line at a glance

West Park is an obscure Hampton Bay line, and the public record for it is exactly one number: a replacement seat cover listed at 31 inches wide, 24.25 inches deep, on an extraordinary 8.5 inches of loft. That profile — over-stuffed, tufted-looking, deep — is the line’s whole identity, and it’s the opposite of the slim modern pads most catalogs stock.

So this page works differently. Below is the one published figure, flagged as approximate; everything else in the West Park program is cut to your measurements. If your pads measure differently — production varied — send the numbers and we cut to them. cotton linen, tech fabric, or premium velvet, factory-made and factory-shipped.

Check three things: (1) the white label under the seat frame or inside the arm — Hampton Bay model numbers usually start with a supplier code like GLD or THD; (2) your Home Depot order history or the original manual; (3) a tape measure — an 8.5-inch loft on a 31-inch-wide seat — the deepest, over-stuffiest profile of any Hampton Bay line we list. Our full measuring guide walks you through it.

Eight and a half inches of loft: the West Park identity

The one public West Park number is a striking one: a 31 × 24.25 seat cover riding on 8.5 inches of loft. For scale, standard outdoor seat pads run 4 to 6 inches — the originals were nearly double that, an over-stuffed profile that sat you high and read as upholstered furniture rather than patio kit. That loft is the line’s whole identity, and it is why slim modern replacements look wrong on the frame: an 8.5-inch chair wearing a 5-inch pad leaves the fabric standing off the frame like a loose jacket. For scale against the rest of the catalog: at 31 inches wide this is the widest single-chair pad in our measured library, six inches past a generous lounge seat — barrel-chair scale, deep enough to sit cross-legged in.

The cover-versus-rebuild decision matters more on West Park than on most lines, because the public listing was for a cover only — implying the original foam was expected to outlast its fabric. Foam that still springs back under a flat palm supports a cover-only re-cut: send the cover’s seam-to-seam measurements plus its thickness, and the new cover is cut to them. Foam that stays compressed under your hand has reached the end regardless — an over-stuffed profile with dead foam collapses inward from the sides, and no cover, however well cut, fixes that geometry.

The original shade was midnight blue; when matching a surviving piece, Navy Blue and Deep blue olefin bracket it closely in the fabric range. If the whole set is being re-cut, this is a rare line where the silhouette is generous enough to carry light tones — White or warm Khaki canvas makes the thick pads read as deliberate upholstery rather than bulk. Either route, the thickness is the order: 8.5 inches is the number that makes it West Park. Send photographs of the frame with your measurements when you order: on a build this thick, the corner seams decide the fit far more than the top surface does, because the cover has to wrap a cube, not a slab.

Measure before you order

Set aside three minutes with the measuring guide — on a line this thick, measure loft at the edge seam, not the sewn center, and confirm width across the widest point.
