The Pacific Grove line at a glance
Pacific Grove is Hampton Bay’s tapered-frame line from Home Depot — and that makes it a trap for standard-size shoppers: nearly every cushion is a trapezoid. The lounge seat runs 25 inches at the front, 22 at the back; the dining seat 21 front, 19 back; the loveseat is a single one-piece pad that’s 49 inches wide in front and 46 behind. Rectangle pads pucker on all of them.
And then there’s the chaise: a single one-piece 23.5-inch by 75-inch pad — the longest seat cushion in the Hampton Bay range. We cut every Pacific Grove piece to the original tapered geometry below, in cotton linen, tech fabric, or premium velvet, from the bench that ships them.
Check three things: (1) the white label under the seat frame or inside the arm — Hampton Bay model numbers usually start with a supplier code like GLD or THD; (2) your Home Depot order history or the original manual; (3) a tape measure — tapered everything — a lounge seat 25" front / 22" back — plus a one-piece 75" chaise pad found nowhere else in the range. Trapezoid panels and a 75-inch one-piece: Pacific Grove craft notes
Why a trapezoid at all? Pacific Grove frames taper — wider at the front rail than the back — so a rectangular pad wrinkles at the rear corners within a season of sun and shifting. A pad cut with the taper lies flat for years because there is no excess fabric to bunch. This is also exactly why a close-enough rectangle fails here: the sizing error concentrates at the back edge, right where the frame shows it.
The chaise is a single 23.5 × 75 one-piece over a hinge — seventy-five inches end to end, which our database logs as the longest chaise pad of any Hampton Bay line. One-piece construction over a hinge means no gap to pinch at the fold, but also that the pad cannot be flipped end-for-end to even out wear the way two-piece chaise pads can. Plan maintenance instead: store it flat, never folded, and dry both faces after a storm — a pad this long holds a remarkable amount of water at the hinge. The dining pads run 3.5 inches under their trapezoid cut — thin enough to dry fast, which suits furniture that lives by the kitchen door; stand them on edge after rain the same way you would the chaise.
Fabric direction matters more on a long one-piece than owners expect. A stripe running the length of the pad draws the eye down the chaise; laid across the width, it chops the cushion into bands. Cabana Stripe — Blue, Gray, or Red — is a natural on this piece; the pattern is essentially a chaise pattern. For the opposite effect, solid Deep blue olefin gives the longest pad on the patio an unbroken surface that shrugs off drying marks. And plan the carry: the one-piece cushions here are long enough to need two hands, and a cracked foam edge on a door frame is the most common self-inflicted wound of one-piece season.
