The ANTILOP line at a glance
ANTILOP is the flat-pack high chair – a one-piece molded seat shell on four detachable steel legs, sold for around twenty-five dollars and in more nurseries than any other chair IKEA makes. The shell has no padding at all: the official accessory line is a $9.99 inflatable supporting cushion and a cover that washes at 60°C, which is enough for a baby who has just learned to sit, and nothing for the years after.
The seat is 9 7/8 by 8 5/8 inches – smaller than any universal baby cushion on the market is cut for. That fraction is the reason this page exists: a padded replacement that actually fits this shell is a custom cut, and a foam insert holds up years past the inflatable.
Every dimension field accepts decimals down to the quarter inch, and the running estimate recalculates as you type. What leaves this bench weekly: lone seats and backs, full matched sets, split seat blocks on multi-seat frames, notched corners that clear trim, and thickness anywhere from 2 to 8 inches — one per-square-foot formula covers them all, so no shape carries a surcharge.
A different series, or a piece the chart skips? Start from any shape → — the cut follows your numbers.
One shell, two accessory layers, three years of growth
The official ANTILOP program covers two different surfaces, and mixing them up is the most common ordering error on this chair. The tray mat is a flat 15 x 15 inch sheet that lies inside the tray ring, wipes clean, and has nothing to do with sitting comfort. The seat pad is the layer that matters here: it lands on the 9 7/8 x 8 5/8 molded shell that the child actually sits on. A pad cut for the tray is three inches too wide in both directions for the seat, and a seat-sized pad disappears under the tray frame. Check which layer you are replacing before you open the measuring tape.
What the shell demands is a pad that survives the full occupancy window. The inflatable accessory is designed for the months when a baby has just learned to hold itself upright; past that stage, the air bladder feels thin against hard plastic and offers nothing for a toddler who drops, wriggles and stands in the chair. A cut-to-shape foam layer in the two to three inch range fills the shell without lifting the child above the tray edge, which is the safety line IKEA engineers the tray height around. The shell geometry never changes between the tray version and the safety-belt version, so one measurement serves both.
Fabric choice on a high chair is a laundry decision before it is a color decision. The official cover tolerates machine washing at 60 degrees C, and any replacement should match that standard, because a feeding chair gets washed weekly in real households. Washable cotton weaves behave best through hot cycles; coated wipe-down weaves trade laundering for a quick sponge-off. Either way, the cover closes with a zipper and removes for washing, and the pad attaches with ties or a snug fit rather than loose loops that a child can grab.
Pricing — estimated starting at
| Piece | 35D Standard | 50D Firm | 65D Extra Firm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seat pad, 9 7/8 x 8 5/8 (1 1/2 in. core) | $60 | $60 | $60 |
| Full seat liner w/ back roll | $60 | $60 | $60 |
Estimates shown — $45 make-base + area at per-sq-ft rates, cut to order. The final quote gets your sign-off before production. Each cover closes with a zipper and removes for washing.
Benchmark: 2026 listings from U.S. custom-configurator specialists put made-to-order cushions in standard sizes (16×16–24×24) at about $71–$119 before shipping — with most of those prices surfacing only after a quote request. The published formula above lets you run the math before committing.

Every figure traces to official IKEA product data (live pages, archived values, or surviving aftermarket spec tables). Inches apply; fractions with metric roots — 22 7/8, 23 5/8 — are standard — the fraction is what gets cut.
Measure before you order

Three minutes with a tape measure prevents the classic IKEA mistake — ordering rounded inch sizes for metric fractions. Measure seam to seam, every distinct block, to the nearest quarter inch per our measuring guide; the chart above is matched against your numbers before anything is cut. For the rest of the range, the IKEA replacement cushions index lists every measured line.
Fabric options
The dimensions hold in every fabric — cotton linen for everyday duty, wipe-clean tech fabric for spills, claw-resistant premium velvet for looks. On indoor rebuilds: high-resilience 45–60D cores, thickness matched to the published seat height.

Is your set really ANTILOP?
ANTILOP is unmistakable – one smooth white plastic shell, rounded corners, four curved steel legs that pop off for storage, usually with the round tray attached. The measuring check: seat under 10 by 9 inches is ANTILOP territory, and no universal cushion is cut that small. If yours reads 15 3/4 wide instead, check whether you have the sister junior-chair generation before ordering. Full method: our three-step measuring guide.

Frequently asked questions
IKEA sells an inflatable supporting cushion with a cover that washes at 60°C ($9.99) as the official accessory – comfortable for a baby who has just learned to sit, but an air bladder, not a seat. A foam cut to the 9 7/8 x 8 5/8 shell is the durable replacement, in any fabric.
The seat shell measures 9 7/8 inches wide by 8 5/8 deep with the seat surface 21 1/4 off the floor – official measurements. Universal baby cushions start around 13 x 13 and pool visibly on this shell; the fit is a custom cut to the fraction.
The official accessory’s cover goes in the wash at 60°C. For a custom cut, spot cleaning handles daily spills and the foam core stays out of the machine; when a wash is due, every cover unzips and removes — same as every cushion on this site.
That is the most common upgrade reason. The shell is bare plastic; a thin (1 1/2 in.) firm core makes the chair usable through the toddler years, and the detachable-legs design means the frame outlasts several children’s worth of cushions.
Cutting and sewing start once the order is in — plan on a 4-7 business-day make-and-ship window: production typically runs 4–7 business days, with a 3–5 business-day rush option on most fabrics.
Wipes cover most days — and every cover unzips for a full wash when one is due. Tech Fabric keeps care minimal: waterproof, damp-cloth clean. Cotton Linen spot-cleans, and a low-heat iron on the reverse smooths creases. Velvet takes dry cleaning or a soft hand wash, drying with the pile laid flat; Chenille is a spot-clean-only fabric and its tufts never meet a brush.
