Cut and sewn by the factory that ships them — no middlemen.
One price for every fabric. Pick by look, not budget.
Every dimension re-checked before cutting. Outside tolerance, remade free.
If we cut it wrong, we remake it — no arguments.

Dining bench cushions cut to your bench, not to a shelf size — any length from a compact 36-inch breakfast seat to a sixty-inch farmhouse plank. Bench pads take more daily abuse than any chair in the house, and they are the piece most often replaced with something that almost fits. Send the three numbers, and we cut a pad that fits the first time.
- Factory Direct — The workshop that cuts it is the one that ships it

- ±½″ Tolerance — Measured cuts, not stock-chart guesses

Why Dining Bench Cushions Flatten First
A bench is the most-invited seat at the table: kids pile onto it three at a time, adults grab the end nearest the kitchen, and everyone slides in and out across the same fabric. The foam under a bench pad compresses in cycles no dining chair ever sees, and it almost always goes first at the two ends where people push off to stand up.
The second problem is length. Furniture makers cut benches to the room, not to a standard: 42 inches here, 45 and a half there, 60 in the farmhouse. Universal pads ship in a handful of lengths with the unspoken instruction to “size up and let it overhang” — which looks wrong from day one and slides worse every week.
The bench itself, though, is usually fine. Solid wood, sound joinery, decades left in it. Replacing the whole bench to fix a dead pad is the expensive answer to a cheap problem — a measured replacement pad is the proportionate one.
Why order from a mill instead
Your bench gets cut to the exact length, depth, and thickness you measure — high-density foam in your choice of grade, 119 fabrics at one flat rate, and a quarter-inch sewing tolerance backed by a free remake. The customizer above prices your numbers as you type them.

Dining Bench Cushion Dimensions — What We Typically See
| Style | Typical range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Straight dining bench | 36–60 in. W × 15–18 in. D × 2–4 in. T | 42 and 48 in. are the universal-retail lengths; real benches wander well off them |
| Backrest pad (spindle-back benches) | Bench width × 14–18 in. H × 2–3 in. T | Order seat and back in one fabric for a matched set |
| Deep-seat / farmhouse bench | 19–22 in. D | Our measured library documents outdoor glider benches at 21.5 in. deep — same geometry, indoor room |
Pricing — estimated starting at
| Piece | Example size (W × D × T) | Foam | Estimated price* |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compact bench | 42 × 16 × 3 in. | 50D | $173 |
| Standard bench | 48 × 16 × 3 in. | 50D | $191 |
| Farmhouse bench | 60 × 16 × 3 in. | 50D | $227 |
| Thick seat option | 48 × 18 × 4 in. | 50D | $222 |
*Per piece, priced live in the customizer from your exact entries: $45 cutting per piece, foam by density and thickness, fabric flat at $7.43/sq ft across all 119 options. Longer benches scale by area — the arithmetic is on screen before you order.
Doing the whole table setting? Bench pad plus matching chair cushions quotes in one order — add each piece in the customizer and watch the set total build.
Foam & Thickness for Bench Seating
| Foam | Best for | Typical thickness |
|---|---|---|
| 35D | Guest benches, light use | 2–3 in. |
| 50D | Daily family dining | 3 in. |
| 60D | Heavy households, adult-heavy seating, long dinners | 3–4 in. |
Bench density is about who lands on it. A bench that catches three kids at once wants 60D; a quiet breakfast-nook bench for two lives happily on 50D. Thickness above four inches starts to lift shorter sitters uncomfortably at standard table height — resist the plush instinct unless the bench is the soft seat in the room.
How to Measure a Dining Bench Cushion
Measure the bench frame, not the old pad — the pad’s job is to fit the frame.

- Length — inside the end supports, or the full flat top if the ends are open.
- Depth — front edge to back edge of the flat seating surface.
- Thickness — chosen, not measured: 2–4 in. by comfort and table height.
Check the corners: if the bench front has rounded or curved rails, note it and measure the flat rectangle anyway — we cut clean square corners, and a pad sized to the flat top sits true. One photo of the bench top beside a tape is worth a paragraph of description.
Fabrics That Survive the Table
Dining benches are the spill capital of the house — soup, wine, homework markers, and whatever the toddler is smuggling. Choose accordingly:
- Tech Fabric — wipe-clean and waterproof; the honest choice under age six.
- Cotton Linen — the natural look for grown-up dining rooms; unzip and wash on spill events.
- Premium Velvet — the formal dining room’s fabric; rich color, pleasant recovery, best where shoes stay at the door.
- Chenille — soft, textured, forgiving with pets who think the bench is theirs.

Every cover unzips for washing, whatever the fabric. Patterned weaves hide the daily evidence between washes better than any solid — a practical detail worth the upgrade.
Bench Pieces We Cut
- Straight dining bench pads — any length, 2–4 in. thick
- Backrest pads for spindle-back and ladder-back benches
- Piano bench and hallway bench pads
- Matched sets: bench pad + chair cushions in one fabric
L-shaped breakfast-nook corners, trapezoid window benches, and storage-bench lids are all regular work — select the shape in the customizer or send a paper tracing for the odd ones.

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure for a dining bench cushion?
Measure the bench frame, not the old pad: length inside the end supports, front-to-back depth of the flat top, and choose thickness (2–4 in.) by comfort and table height. If the front rail is curved, measure the flat rectangle and note it — we cut square corners that sit true on the flat deck.
What length do I order if my bench is between sizes?
Order your bench’s real length, to the inch — that is the entire point of custom cutting. Sizing up to a “close” shelf length is what causes the overhang and slide that brought most of our bench customers here.
How thick should a dining bench cushion be?
Three inches is the standard: enough comfort for a long dinner without raising shorter sitters above the table. Two inches suits a low bench or a minimal look; four is for deep farmhouse benches that double as lounging.
Can I get rounded front corners to match my old pad?
No — we cut square, knife-edge corners on every cushion. It is the seam our workshop can sew tight and true at a quarter-inch tolerance, and on a flat bench deck a square-cornered pad measured to the flat top sits cleaner than a rounded guess.
Do the covers come off for washing?
Yes — every cover unzips, on any of the 119 fabrics. For a dining bench that is not a luxury; it is the difference between a spill and a re-upholstery.
Can I match chair cushions in the same fabric?
Yes — add each chair seat (and backs if you have them) in the same order and the same fabric. The customizer prices every piece as you add it, and one order ships as one set.
How long do custom bench cushions take?
Standard builds leave the workshop in 4–7 days, rush builds in 3–5, with shipping typically 3–6 weeks. Your confirmation carries the exact dates.
Do you make bench pads for outdoor tables too?
Yes — the same cutting, in the outdoor-rated fabric range. Choose the outdoor option in the customizer and the full weather-friendly lineup opens up.
