allen + roth is the patio house label Lowe’s built its outdoor aisles on for years — the lowercase name with the plus sign, reset fresh every spring. Like every house label, lines rotated in and out with the seasons, and when a line drops out of the assortment its original cushions leave with it. There is no parts desk to call and no chart to look up: the frame is still standing on the patio while the pad that came with it has gone thin, faded or split.
We are a custom cushion factory, not a retailer, so nothing here depends on the old assortment. Deep-seating frames show their age first: tall back cushions dish at the shoulders, seat pads compress to half their loft, and the wicker or steel frame underneath keeps its shape for years after the pads give up. We rebuild seat-and-back sets to your measurements — separate numbers for each piece, thickness back to the height the set had when it was new — so a two- or three-seat conversation set reads as one set again, not five mismatched survivors. The dining and lounge chairs run rounded seats and slatted or curved backs that stock squares never match — gaps at the corners, slide at every sit-down, back pads that ride up the frame. We cut single seat pads and full seat-and-back sets to the exact measurements of your chairs, one pattern repeated across four, six or eight so the whole set looks factory again. The storage benches and porch benches carry some of the thickest foam in the line, which is why they flatten unevenly — one end sits proud, the other has given up entirely. A measured replacement fixes that in one pass: width, depth and the thickness that puts the seat back at sitting height, sewn as one piece with a zip-off cover you can wash at the end of the season. Loveseats are the midpoint of the set — too wide for a chair pad, too narrow for a sofa replacement — which is why stock sizes fail on both ends. The two-seat frames take a single seat pad or a pad pair plus two backs, and every combination is a measurement problem, not a catalog problem. The hanging and swivel egg chairs are the signature pieces of the line — and the hardest to keep in pads, because the curved frame eats anything rectangular. Original pads for discontinued frames surface second-hand at best. The custom route fits the curve the same way it fits everything else: measure the seat pan at its widest, the back at its tallest, and the pad set is cut to those numbers. Sectionals multiply the problem: four to eight modules, each with its own seat and back dimensions, and one discontinued cushion set means the whole conversation pit sits crooked. Measure each module separately — corner, armless, ottoman — and we cut the run in one fabric batch so the dye lots agree across every piece. Every cushion we build ships with a zip-off cover as standard, so the cover — the part that takes the sun, the spills and the stains — can come off for a full wash without touching sound foam. When a cover has genuinely given up, the practical route is a replacement sewn to the old pad’s own measurements: same three numbers, same fit, fresh fabric. Measure Once, Order Once — Three Numbers, Foam and Fabric
Pull the old pad — or lay the tape straight on the bare frame — and take width × depth × thickness for every piece, separate numbers for seat and back. Note the thickness you want, not the thickness you had; two extra inches of foam is a seating-height decision before it is a comfort one. Series names like Chesterbrook, Emerald Cove, Ivy Meadows and Thomas Lake help you identify the set, but the custom route never needs the name — the numbers are the spec, and we hold them to ±½″ (±¾″ beyond 36″) in writing.
Inside the pad, seats are built at 60D high-density foam and backs at 50D — the pairing that survives daily outdoor use without going board-hard. Outside, all 119 library fabrics are outdoor-rated at one flat rate: solution-dyed weaves that hold their color in full sun, Tech Fabric builds that take open weather and wipe clean, softer hands for a covered porch. Every cover unzips for washing.
