Build Your L-Shaped Cushion
Corner banquettes, wraparound window benches, sectional corners — none of them are rectangles, and none of them follow a standard size. The big-box pad that fits a straight bench was never going to turn your corner, and the store’s “corner cushion” is cut for their frame, not yours.
Give us four numbers — long-arm length and depth, short-arm width and reach — and we cut an L that fits like it grew there. One continuous pad, 2 to 8 inches thick, in any of our fabrics: soft indoor weaves for the breakfast nook, solution-dyed acrylics for the patio corner that takes the afternoon sun.

Every field takes decimals to the quarter inch, and the estimate updates as you type. The shape itself never adds a fee — L-shapes price on the same per-square-foot formula as rectangles, measured on the outside footprint. Thickness runs 2 to 8 inches.

Pricing — estimated starting at
| Fabric tier | Estimated price* |
|---|---|
| Indoor / Outdoor Cotton Linen | $319 |
| Tech Fabric | $319 |
| Premium Velvet | $319 |
*One L-shaped cushion at a typical corner-nook footprint (long arm 60 × 24 in., 10.0 sq ft outside footprint): $45 make-base + 10.0 sq ft × $27.37 per sq ft (3" 50D foam + fabric, all fabrics one price) = $319. A bigger wraparound — 84 × 24 in., 14.0 sq ft — runs $428. Every dimension is confirmed with you before we cut.
Every price covers foam, fabric and make — shipping is a single flat rate per order with tracking, and nothing is cut until you confirm the numbers. Cut and sewn only after you order: production is 4–7 business days, rush production 3–5 business days for a surcharge. Delivery is 3–6 weeks door to door. Typical US custom shops quote 3–6 weeks for the same build.

For comparison: U.S. custom-configurator specialists’ 2026 listings for made-to-order cushions in common sizes (16×16 through 24×24) run roughly $71–$119 before shipping — and most only reveal that price after a quote request. The pricing math is right on the page — every dollar of the estimate traces back to a dimension you can measure.
The four numbers an L needs
| Field | What it measures | Typical |
|---|---|---|
| A — Total length | Long arm, full outside length edge to edge | e.g. 72″ |
| B — Total depth | Long arm, full outside depth back to front | e.g. 30″ |
| D — Short arm width | Short arm, along its outside edge | e.g. 30″ |
| E — Arm depth | How far the short arm reaches past the long arm | e.g. 24″ |
| C — Thickness | 2 / 3 / 5 / 6 / 8 inch tiers | e.g. 5″ |
Two arms, four numbers — the corner takes care of itself.
How to Measure an L-Shaped Cushion
- Long arm first — A is its full outside length, edge to edge; B is its full outside depth, back to front. Both along the outside edge, never into the inside corner.
- Short arm second — D is its width along the outside edge; E is how far it reaches past the long arm’s front edge. Two arms, two depths, entered separately.
- Don’t count the corner twice — the A × B outside footprint already contains it. That is exactly why both arms are measured on their outside edges and never into the corner.
- Have the old cushion? — lay it flat and take the same four numbers off the cover, seam to seam, never squeezed.
- No old pad? — measure the bench deck wall to wall and front to back on both arms, and we confirm every number with you before anything is cut.

Fabric for Corners on Both Sides of the Door
L-shapes live on both sides of the door: corner banquettes and nook benches indoors, patio and porch corners out. The same four numbers price in any of the our fabrics — pick by where your corner sits, not by what the shape is.

The indoor corner. Breakfast nooks and window benches want soft weaves — cotton linens and velvets that feel right against morning coffee. The outdoor corner. An exposed patio or deck corner works like a greenhouse: ordinary fabric fades within a season or two of full sun, so the spec is solution-dyed acrylic, where the color is in the fiber, not printed on it. We make no fade warranty on any fabric — fading is UV physics, and solution-dyed weaves are simply the ones that resist it longest.
The L-Shapes We Cut Most
- Breakfast-nook corners — the two-wall banquette where the table meets the bench. Long arm down one wall, short arm down the other, one continuous pad with the corner built in. This is the classic case: four numbers, one piece, a pad that finally uses the corner instead of apologizing for it.
- Wraparound window benches — bay and garden windows that turn a corner. Same four numbers; the pad follows the walls instead of stopping at them, and the seat that was always the spare one becomes the one people argue over.
- Sectional corners — the corner unit where two sofa sections meet, indoors or on the patio. We cut it to your frame’s corner, not to a store’s idea of a standard one — same formula, any fabric, any thickness.
- Odd angles and one-offs — the corner that isn’t square, the L with a radiator notch, the angle no catalog covers. Send photos and your numbers through the inquiry and we’ll tell you straight whether it’s something we can cut.

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure an L-shaped cushion?
Both arms along their outside edges — never into the corner. A is the long arm’s full length, B its full depth, D the short arm’s outside width, E how far the short arm reaches past the long arm’s front edge. The walkthrough above shows each number; type them plus thickness and the quote updates live.
Is an L-shaped cushion one piece or two?
One piece is the default — a single continuous pad with the corner built in, which is exactly what the customizer above prices. If you’d rather have two pieces that split at the corner line (easier to flip, rotate and carry), note it when you order and we’ll quote the split as two cushions on the same formula.
Where does the seam go on an L-shaped cushion?
When your dimensions exceed the fabric’s usable width, a seam is unavoidable — the pattern pieces simply don’t fit one bolt of cloth. We plan seam placement together with your confirmed numbers before anything is cut, so nothing surprises you at the door.
Does the inner corner have to be a 90-degree square?
The customizer quotes a square-cornered L — the shape most banquettes and sectionals are built on. Angled or rounded inside corners are one-offs rather than calculator jobs: send photos and your numbers through the inquiry and we’ll tell you straight whether your frame is something we can cut.
How is an L-shaped cushion priced?
Same formula as every shape we cut: a $45 make-base plus fabric by the square foot. The L is measured on its A × B outside footprint, so the corner is never counted twice. A 60 × 24 nook L runs $319; a bigger 84 × 24 wraparound runs $428.
Can the two arms be different depths?
Yes — that is exactly why the form takes separate numbers. B is the long arm’s depth and E is the short arm’s reach past it, so a 30-inch-deep window side meeting a 24-inch-deep run is four numbers, not a compromise.
Can L-shaped cushions go outdoors?
Yes — the same cut prices in any of the our fabrics, including the solution-dyed acrylics built for full sun. For a covered porch, the indoor/outdoor cotton linens hold up fine; for an exposed patio corner, browse the outdoor tier in the configurator first and zoom the weave shots.
What tolerance do you cut to?
±½″ in writing (±¾″ over 36″). A finished piece outside tolerance, in the wrong fabric, or wrong build is remade free — the same rule for L-shapes as for every shape we cut.
How long does an L-shaped cushion take?
Made to order in 4–7 business days — straightforward pieces run 7–10 — and rush production is 3–5 business days for a surcharge. Production is separate from delivery (3–6 weeks door to door); typical US custom shops quote 3–6 weeks for the same build.
Is an L-Shaped Cushion Right for You?
- The corner carries a seam — by design. A one-piece L larger than the fabric is wide cannot exist without a planned seam, and the honest place for it is the corner line where the eye already expects a break; a seamless wraparound the full width of the room is not something any fabric bolt gives.
- Curved or non-square corners need more than four numbers. Four measurements describe a square-corner L; an inside corner with a radius, or angles off ninety degrees, needs a paper trace or photos before cutting — order it as square and the long arm arrives with a gap at the curve.
- Unsure about color? Email the factory before you order. Screens shift color, and dining light shifts it again — send a photo of where the cushion will live and we will tell you honestly how each fabric reads in that spot. The two-minute email is cheaper than a wrong-color guess.
- Custom-cut means non-returnable. Custom-cut means non-returnable. A cushion cut to your numbers fits exactly one frame on earth — tolerances are published in writing (±½″, ±¾″ over 36″), and anything outside them against your confirmed numbers is remade free, whenever the error is found.
