The Hampton Bay dining chair, at a glance
Dining chairs are the thin end of the Hampton Bay range: six of the eight charted series run seats 3 to 4.25 inches thick — enough to sit on for a meal, thin enough to slide under the table. Palm Canyon and Verrado break the pattern with deep 25-inch decks and 5-inch builds closer to lounge seating than dining.
Identify yours: (1) check the white label under the seat for the series name; (2) match seat width × depth × thickness against the chart; (3) replacing a whole set — count the chairs and measure one, then note whether yours are separate seat pads or one-piece seat-and-back builds (Kampar and Windsor use the latter).
Thin pads, three specific traps
Trap one: assuming lounge thickness works at the table. A 5-inch pad on a 3.5-inch Oak Cliff frame lifts the sitter four fingers above the table edge. The charted dining profiles are thin by design — match them, don’t upgrade them.
Trap two: the trapezoid. Pacific Grove dining seats run 21 inches at the front edge, 19 at the back. Cut as a rectangle, the pad overhangs the back rail and curls. It’s a standard cut for us — but only when the tape numbers say trapezoid.
Trap three: mixed construction. Kampar’s dining chair uses a single one-piece cushion covering seat and back, and Windsor ships a seat-plus-back set as well. If your originals were one-piece, ordering separate seat pads changes how the chair sits — both builds are charted on their series pages, and we cut either.
Replacing a full set, order all chairs in one lot: fabrics are dyed in batches, and one batch means one consistent color across every chair. We check every chair’s figures against your measurements before the first cut — six chairs, six verifications.

How thick should Hampton Bay dining chair cushions be?

Order all chairs in one lot and they’re cut from the same dye batch — the closest match the mill allows. Split orders months apart can drift a shade, same as any fabric.
How much do Hampton Bay dining chair cushions cost?
It follows construction: seat-only builds start around $154 (Palm Canyon reference) and seat-plus-back sets around $286 (Verrado reference), at every fabric one price. Whole-set quotes list every chair line by line before anything is cut.
How long does a full dining set take?
Every set is cut and sewn after you order — 4-7 business days to craft, 3-6 weeks delivery to your door. Rush service (3-5 business days) covers most of the fabric list.
Will universal dining pads fit?
Rarely. The chart spans 19.5 to 22 inches in width and 19 to 25 in depth — a universal 17 × 17 pad undershoots every charted seat. Cut-to-size costs the same here as guessing somewhere else.
