Cut to the weave, not to a guess
Wicker furniture has a sizing problem store-bought cushions never solve: the seat is a woven surface that dips, curves and narrows — not a flat deck a universal pad can guess at. A pad cut for a rectangle sits wrong on a weave that runs tapered, and gaps at the arms on a seat that rounds inward. Wicker seat cushions done right are measured over the weave itself, and that is the only way we cut them.

Wicker, rattan, and what the weave does to fit
The outdoor world uses wicker and rattan almost interchangeably, and for cushion purposes they create the same two fitting problems. First, the woven deck sits lower and softer than a hard frame — a pad measured off the old cushion will float once the weave settles under it. Second, wicker seats very often run curved at the front edge and tapered at the arms, so the seat is not the rectangle it looks like from across the patio.
The fix is measuring over the deck itself — widest span, deepest span, front edge traced if it bows — and letting the pad carry the weave’s real geometry. We cut wicker seat cushions, wicker dining pads and deep-seat wicker builds to those numbers in any of 119 fabrics, with the full shape logic in our curved wicker measuring guide.
Measuring over the weave, not the frame

Three rules separate a wicker pad that fits from one that gaps:
1. Measure the woven surface, not the outer frame. The arms and skirt of a wicker piece extend past where you actually sit. Lay the tape across the weaving at its widest usable span, front edge to seat back — that is the width and depth that gets cut.
2. Let the pad run a half inch proud. A cut exactly the size of the weave disappears into the dip; a half inch of overhang per side sits on the ridge and reads as tailored. Our tolerance already covers ±½″, so order the deck numbers and we handle the rest.
3. Trace a curved front. If the front edge bows outward, measure the straight chord and the depth at the deepest point, and note the curve with the order — crescent fronts are routine cuts here, and the deeper story for wicker replacement builds covers what else travels with age. The material decoder — wicker vs rattan vs cane — is charted below and in detail in our comparison piece.
Measure before you order
Measure first: three minutes with our measuring guide — width, depth, and thickness at the seam, written down per cushion, not per set. Those three numbers are the entire spec: every wicker seat cushions order we sew is cut to them and nothing else.
Related builds: the full wicker cushions hub and the rattan cushions line cover every piece type; wrought iron chair cushions is the sister build for metal frames, and square outdoor cushions handles the straight-edged majority.

Fabric options & estimated pricing
Every fabric one price, on the same measured cut — so the choice below is about feel and weather, never about the bill. Solution-dyed acrylics for full sun, tech fabrics that shrug a shower, cotton linen for covered spots: all 119 live in the fabric menu inside the order flow.

*USD 45 make-base per piece + area at per-sq-ft rates (foam by density and thickness, fabric flat at $7.43 per sq ft — every one of the 119 fabrics the same rate). Estimates rounded to the dollar; the configurator figures your exact numbers live, and the quote is settled before anything is cut.
Estimates for the typical pieces above; your exact figure is set by your three numbers. Covers close with a zippered closure (covers remove for washing).
Frequently asked questions
How do you measure a wicker seat for a cushion?
Across the weaving at its widest usable span, then front edge to seat back for depth, then thickness at the seam of the old pad if you like its loft. Skip the outer frame — arms and skirts sit outside the sitting surface. Curved fronts: add the chord and deepest-point depth with a note, and we cut the sweep.
Are wicker and rattan cushions the same thing?
For cutting purposes, yes — both are woven decks that dip and taper, and both are measured the same over-the-weave way. The material differences (rattan vine cores, synthetic weaves, cane panels) matter more to the frame’s weather life than to the pad; our rattan line runs on the identical measuring discipline.
What sizes do wicker seats come in?
Dining wicker runs near 17–19 inch squares; seat wicker 19–21; deep-seat wicker frames 23–27 and thicker in the loft. The spread is exactly why stock pads fail on weaves — the same nominal chair varies by maker and decade. Your three numbers beat every chart.
My wicker set is vintage — can you still match it?
That is our normal work. Older woven frames went out of production with their pads, and “close enough” universal pads gap at the arms within a season. Measure over the weave as above, pick the loft you want, and the rebuild fits the piece rather than the era it was made in.
How much do custom wicker seat cushions cost?
Custom pieces start at the USD 101 entry piece in the table above and scale with size and foam density — every fabric one price, final quote confirmed before anything is cut.
How long do they take to make and ship?
Every set is cut and sewn after you order — crafted in 4–7 business days, rush service 3–5 business days, then flat-rate shipping to your door; plan on 3–6 weeks door to door.
