Two routes exist for Vista pads: the dealer channel, eighteen to twenty weeks against factory records, or an independent cut from your own tape work in a fraction of that time. This page explains how to certify the line first and what figures either route needs.

The Vista collection in short
Vista is a retired O.W. Lee furniture line — the name survives on the factory’s fabric cards (Vista Indigo, Vista Dune), which is where most people meet it today. The seating itself left the catalog, like Kensington, Creighton and the other earlier names; the hand-forged frames under those pieces outlast the pads by decades, which is what brings them to a cushion shop.
Both channels want the same preparation. The cues below lock in the Vista name; the tape supplies the dimensions; then it is eighteen weeks through a dealer, or a cut from your figures in any of 119 upholstery options from an independent floor.
Either channel starts the same way: establish the make. The construction argues first — hand-forged scrollwork on heavy-gauge stock rules out imports; the rail argues second — O.W. Lee fits a brass plaque or a stamped mark to every piece; the paperwork argues last — a nationwide dealer network, never big-box aisles, means the invoice or order history names the collection outright. The taping walkthrough closes it out.
Reading a Vista frame
Start with the maker’s marks: a brass plaque or stamped frame rail, hand-forged weight, and a baked-on finish — the constants across every O.W. Lee line, Vista included. Imports carry none of the three; one lifted chair end usually settles which world your set is from.
Use the order trail: Vista pieces were sold on dealer tickets that named the collection. A dealer invoice, an old quote, or email history with the store that sold the set beats frame-guessing. If the fabric on your old pads is original, its colorway name may also appear on your paperwork.
Don’t confuse it with: the Vista fabric colorways on O.W. Lee’s current material cards — those name fabrics, not furniture. A set is “Vista” only when the dealer paper says so; the plaque and invoice together are the honest identification.
Era, and what it prices: as a retired line, Vista pads surface through the factory-store clearance shelf in leftover materials — sizes as listed, never re-cut — or through the dealer counter on a long ticket. The measured route from your own figures skips both queues.
The Vista chart that never was
| What to check | What the Vista commonly shows | Don’t confuse it with |
|---|---|---|
| Frame | Hand-forged steel or aluminum, O.W. Lee weight class | Lightweight import tubular steel |
| Mark | Brass O.W. Lee plaque or stamped frame rail | No mark at all — fall back to the invoice |
| Paperwork | Dealer invoice or order history names the collection | Big-box receipts |
| Name today | Vista survives as a fabric colorway name, not furniture | Currently cataloged collections |
| Cushion spec | Never charted publicly — measured replacements only | Published spec sheets |
Both channels face the same void: O.W. Lee prints no per-collection pad dimensions, and a retired name like Vista is charted nowhere at all — the figures on dealer pages describe whole furniture pieces, never the pads alone. A dealer works around it with factory records and eighteen weeks; we work around it with your tape and no size table at all.
Missing the mark and the paperwork both? Frame photos by email close most identification gaps — from there the three dimensions per pad are all that stands between you and a production slot.
Tape before checkout

Both routes open with the same five minutes: width, depth and thickness at the seam, taken per pad with our measuring guide at hand, written down individually. There is no official chart to cite, so those three figures are the complete spec — and the only one either a dealer or our bench receives for Vista work.
Closest O.W. Lee neighbors: Palazzo (another retired line whose name survives on factory parts) and Casa (the current Bistro dining group). The complete O.W. Lee lineup is on the collections index.
Fabric options & estimated pricing
Price holds across the book on either channel’s cut: cotton linen as the durable baseline, tech fabric for wet climates — it beads and wipes — and premium velvet for the statement pieces, claw-resistant as sold. the swatch sheet in the configurator lines up the full range at the same figure for the same measured dimensions.
| What’s ordered | What’s required | How it’s priced |
|---|---|---|
| Single order item | Width, depth and thickness at the seam | Priced from size and density, not cloth |
| Full unit (seat plus back) | The same three per block | Any quantity, per-piece basis |
| Vista in full | A counted list | Batched via configurator; cutting follows the confirmed quote |
On the independent route, pieces estimate from $168 and scale with dimensions and foam density, 35D to 65D; cloth never adjusts the number. Checkout settles it, and cutting holds until your figures are verified back to you. Zips close every cover — each one washes separately from its foam.

The Vista family of pieces
Vista ran one of the broader retired piece lists: dining chair, lounge chair, spring lounge chair, loveseat, sofa, ottoman, adjustable chaise, and — the line’s signature pair — the swivel rocker dining chair and swivel rocker lounge chair. It is the rare catalog family that put a rocking, turning base under both a dining-height seat and a lounge-height seat, so “Vista” can mean two very different silhouettes sitting in the same yard.
The swivel rocker bodies are the measurement cases to slow down on. A rocking base moves the seat through an arc under a stationary back, so the seat block needs its depth read with the frame at rest and the pad’s front edge clear of the rocker path — and the back block is measured along its full length, because the frame position you actually sit in is the one the pad must serve. The spring lounge chair adds a flexing deck beneath the pad, where the old cover’s seam lines map the original blocks better than a ruler pass across moving steel.
Vista against its neighbors: the adjustable chaise it shares with Palazzo and Heartland sorts by what is underneath — a Vista chaise sits on a fixed base, where Heartland’s motion linkage shows under the seat. Against Heartland’s gliders, the tell is direction: a Vista rocker answers the hand with an arc, a Heartland glider with a fore-and-aft slide. Name the motion, and you have named the line.
Design context, in brief
A line built around motion pieces earns its wear. Every rock and turn abrades the cover at the contact points years before the frame shows anything, which is why Vista jobs so often arrive as swivel pieces first and static seating later. The zippered rebuild suits the pattern — covers off for washing without disturbing the fill, season after season, while the frames keep doing what they were built to do.
Frequently asked questions
Can dealers still order Vista cushions?
Only through the slow channel. As a retired name, Vista pads appear at the factory store’s clearance shelf — leftover cloth, listed sizes — and at the dealer counter as 18–20 week customs. The measured-mill route builds from your figures across 119 fabrics instead.
Does a universal cushion fit the Vista seat decks?
Whichever channel you pick, universals disappoint: O.W. Lee decks are deep and individually proportioned, stock pads that fit the width sit wrong in depth or loft, and curvature defeats the whole idea. Measured work — dealer or independent — is what restores the sit.
Which details confirm Vista over other lines?
The dealer invoice or original order record is the decisive document. The brass plaque or stamped mark names the maker, and the hand-forged weight rules out imports — but only the paper links the frame to the Vista name.
Do replacements require published specifications?
On the independent channel, yes — it is the normal case. Your tape supplies width, depth and thickness for each block; the figures are re-checked against the piece count here, and the work follows your entries.
How much is a Vista cushion set?
On this route, $168 starts the typical piece; dimensions and density grade — 35D to 65D — adjust it, cloth does not. The confirmed figure comes before the first cut.
How long is the wait door to door?
Timing, start to finish: 4–7 business days of standard build, a 3–5 day rush option, flat-rate shipping to follow — 3–6 weeks all in.
What every order carries with it
- The floor has cut and sewn for more than a decade — every order filled and finished in-house, with neither brokers nor dropshippers in the loop.
- A verification step sits between your submission and the cutting bench: three numbers per pad, re-read and matched to the piece count, fabric untouched until it clears.
- The catalog is capability, not stock — any fabric, any frame, single pads and forty-block orders alike.
- The guarantee: a cut past ±½″ (±¾″ over 36″), wrong material, or wrong work — remade without a bill.
Vista pads from $168 per piece on this route: certify the line, send figures, settle the quote.
Identification still open? A photo closes it on this channel too — before production, never after. Not the Vista line? Any shape built, or compare on the OW Lee index.
