Build Your 24 x 24 Cushion

Patio sets converge on the 24-inch square. Deep-seating chairs, wide dining armchairs, sectional modules, and porch swivels from two decades of production all land here, which is why it’s the most-searched cushion size — and why the one-size-fits-all pads at big-box stores fit none of them well. Factory originals at “24 x 24” measure anywhere from 24.0 to 24.41 in our library; each frame wants its own number.

We cut each 24 x 24 patio cushion to the measurements you send: width, depth, thickness, to the quarter inch. Seven documented factory pieces — Lily Bay seats, Windsor lounge and sofa modules, Riley sectional seats, the Beachside loveseat pad at 24.41 — are charted below for cross-checking before you order. Fabrics run Tech Fabric, our waterproof, wipe-clean leather-like workhorse; Cotton Linen for covered patios and indoors; and Premium Velvet, plush claw-resistant velvet; with a sewn envelope closure for a clean look. Made to order by the factory, any quantity.

Pricing — estimated starting at

Fabric tierEstimated price*
Cotton Linen$115
Tech Fabric$141
Premium Velvet$175

*One cushion, 24 × 24 in. (4.00 sq ft top surface): $39 make-base + 4.00 sq ft × fabric rate ($19.0/sq ft, $25.5/sq ft, $34.0/sq ft). Thickness, foam density, and the sewn closure is confirmed at checkout — and every dimension is confirmed with you before we cut.

For comparison: U.S. custom-configurator specialists’ 2026 listings for made-to-order cushions in common sizes (16×16 through 24×24) run roughly $71–$119 before shipping — and most only reveal that price after a quote request. We publish the formula above so you can check the math before you order.

Matching tolerance: width and depth each within 1.5 in. of 24 x 24. Entries marked measured are factory-original pieces from our measurement library; entries marked (pending verification) await re-measurement. Every dimension is re-verified against your order before we cut. We are not affiliated with the brands listed — names are used for fit identification.

Reading the table backward is the faster search for many owners: twelve of the fifteen entries are Hampton Bay lines and three are Martha Stewart — if the label under your frame names any of them, the series chart behind the link holds every piece of the set, measured, and the order can follow the factory numbers exactly. Unlisted frames lose nothing: the pad still gets cut to your tape measure, at the same price as a documented match.

Yours differs? That’s the point — we cut to your numbers.

Measuring tips for a 24 x 24

Premium Olefin - Gray
  • Old cushion flat on a table: width edge to edge, depth front to back, thickness seam to seam — never squeezed.
  • Sectional owners: count your 24-inch modules and order in one batch — one fabric lot, identical pieces.
  • Photograph the label under the frame — a model number can match you to a documented series chart.

Fabrics that suit a 24 x 24

Patio duty defaults to Tech Fabric — waterproof, wipe-clean, season-proof. Cotton Linen under cover; Premium Velvet in screened rooms. The outdoor fabric guide breaks down what actually kills fabric by climate, and the Sunbrella-grade performance tiers page answers the brand-name question honestly.

Building a patio set from 24 x 24 modules

Foam thickness for a 24 x 24

Patio buyers landing on the 24-inch square are usually re-padding lounge sets — and thickness is where replacement sets go wrong. Five inches restores the seat height the frame was built for; 6 is the plush tier; a 3-inch “bargain” pad on a 24-inch deck dishes in one season. Backs run their own loft and often a wedge profile — measure loft at top and bottom.

Density: 50D is the daily-family standard at this scale; 60D for nap-grade frames; 65D for swing beds and daybeds. Grade, thickness and your dimensions confirmed in writing before cutting.

Patio buyers at this size are usually re-padding a group, not a chair — and the groups have shapes. The common builds, and what each asks of the order:

Whatever the shape, one run per set: same fabric lot, same foam grade, same loft, cut in the same batch. A set assembled from orders placed months apart shows it — dye lots drift, and adjacent pads that differ by half a shade read as a mistake.

  • Four chairs and an ottoman — four seat squares plus an ottoman top at 19–24 inches; the ottoman is the piece people forget, and the piece that finishes the set.
  • Loveseat plus two chairs — the loveseat’s deck takes two seat squares end to end or one joined pad; joined pads cannot flip to even out wear, separate squares can.
  • Sectional run — three to five seat squares plus a corner wedge at roughly 27 × 27 with a diagonal front; the wedge is neither seat nor chaise and gets measured as its own piece.
  • Firepit group — four to five seats in a circle; radial frames vary most, so measure each deck rather than trusting one number for the ring.

Frequently asked questions

Yes — order by quantity and every module is cut identically from the same fabric lot, so the run matches across the whole sectional.
The old cushion, flat on a table, edge to edge — it was cut to the frame already. If the pads are gone, measure the seat deck between the frame rails and send us the raw numbers.
Each order is cut and sewn after you place it — typically 7–14 business days in production, and you receive a confirmation listing every dimension before any fabric is cut.
The published formula: $39 make-base plus top area at per-sq-ft rates set by foam grade and fabric tier — a 24 × 24 × 5 block starts around $115 by tier. Sets price as the sum of their pieces; the quote shows every line before you order.
You can — with the two usual cautions: new seats sit prouder than settled backs, and later fabric orders miss the first dye lot. If more than one piece is tired, one run for the whole set is the durable answer.
If more than half the pieces are tired, yes — one run matches loft and dye lot across every piece. If only one or two are gone, replace in symmetry pairs (the two chairs that face each other) so the loft difference never sits side by side; staged sets read as intentional, odd-one-out replacements read as accidents.
