Custom Deep Seat Patio Cushions, Made to Your Measurements

Factory-direct, cut to your measurements — any deep-seating frame, any brand.

Deep seating is the patio lounging posture, not just a bigger chair: the deck runs 23–27 inches front to back, the seat runs 5–6 inches thick, and the back is a tall, often wedge-shaped pad with 4–7 inches of loft. Universal cushions are cut for none of that — the depth gap sits behind your knees and the loft gap sits under it.

We cut deep seat patio cushions to your frame’s numbers — seats, backs, ottomans — for named Hampton Bay and Martha Stewart series straight from our measured charts, and for everything else from your tape measure. Five-inch seats and seven-inch backs are daily work on our cutting tables.

How to Measure a Deep Seat Cushion

  • Measure the seat deck, not the frame outside — depth from the back to the front edge, width at the widest point; decks often taper wider at the front, so record front and back widths separately.
  • Backs: height from the deck to the top edge, then the loft (thickness) at the bottom and top — wedge backs are thicker at the bottom by design.
  • Count seat blocks before measuring: loveseats and sofas are separate pads per seat, not one joined mattress.
  • Don’t forget the ottoman — it is the piece people forget to order.

Fabric and Fill for Lounging Hours

Deep seating is where people actually spend the afternoon, so the fill decision matters: 50D+ high-resilience foam holds its front edge for seasons, where thin universal pads are flat by midsummer. For fabric, tech fabric takes rain and spills with a wipe-down; premium velvet brings the high-end look and stands up to cat claws; cotton linen is the breathable everyday pick. The tier-by-tier comparison is in the fabric guide.

Frequently asked questions

Can I order standard deep seat cushion sizes?

Standard sizes too — in 3 clicks: common deep-seating seats cluster at 24 × 24 to 25 × 25 by 5 inches — stock squares like 24 × 24 and 25 × 25. Type the standard numbers into the customizer for the same instant factory-direct quote — your size is never out of stock.

What size is a deep seat cushion?

Typically 22–26 wide by 23–27 deep at 5–6 inches thick, with back cushions of 4–7 inches of loft — but deep-seating dimensions vary frame to frame; measure the seat deck and back height of your own furniture before ordering.

What’s the difference between deep seating and regular patio cushions?

Depth and loft: regular patio and dining cushions run 17–20 inch decks at 2.5–4 inches; deep seating runs 23–27 inch decks at 5–7 with tall, often wedge-shaped backs. The posture is lounging, not dining.

Can I use regular cushions on deep seating furniture?

You can place them; you cannot get deep-seating comfort from them — the depth gap sits behind your knees, the loft gap sits under it, and flat backs leave your shoulders against frame. The fit problems are geometric, not quality-of-cushion.

How do I replace cushions for a Hampton Bay deep-seating set?

Identify the series name and pull its dimensions from our measured charts — 24 Hampton Bay and 7 Martha Stewart collections documented — and order to OEM specs; unknown series fall back to measuring and custom cutting.
