Build Your Seat Cushion
Every cushion this factory ships is, at some level, a seat cushion — but when people type the words, they mean the pad itself: the square or round that goes under you on a dining chair, a kitchen chair, a stool, a bench seat. The seat cushion aisle answers with universal 17- and 18-inch squares stuffed with fiber, and they fit the way free-size t-shirts fit — close enough to buy, never close enough to stop noticing.
This page is the hub for the seat-pad job in every room it comes up. The collections below branch to the chair types with their own build pages — dining, bar and counter stools, banquettes, nooks — and every build is the same answer: measure the deck, pick the fabric tier, get an instant factory-direct estimate. We are a custom shop, not a catalog, which is why your size is never out of stock.
Build your seat cushion — start with the shape below.
Squares and rectangles for chairs and benches, rounds for stools, and half-rounds or wedges for the odd decks — pick a shape, enter your measurements, and see an instant estimate with a live dimension drawing.
Dining, kitchen, bar, banquette — every seat is the same job: pick a shape and type your numbers.
Pricing — estimated starting at
| Fabric tier | Estimated price* |
|---|---|
| Cotton Linen | $73 |
| Tech Fabric | $76 |
| Premium Velvet | $78 |
*One dining seat pad (18 × 18 × 3 in.): $39 make-base + 2.25 sq ft × rate ($15.32/$16.43/$17.56 per sq ft, 3" 50D foam + fabric). Rounds, thinner pads and bench runs price on their own area at the same formula — every seat, one calculator.
For comparison: a big-box four-pack of universal seat pads runs $25–$45 and averages a season and a half before the fiber flattens. We publish the formula above so you can check the math before you order.
Popular Seat Cushion Sizes We Cut
| Seat | Typical size | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Dining / kitchen chair | 16–20" squares, 2–3" | Stock-friendly squares: 15 × 15, 20 × 20 |
| Bar & counter stool | 13–16" rounds and squares | Bar stool cushions — swivel and backless builds |
| Banquette / nook bench | 36–72 × 16–18 | Banquette cushions, seat plus back |
| Bench seat | 36–60 × 14–18 | Bench cushions — the long-deck family |
| Swivel / glider seat | 18–21 × 17–20 | Glider cushions — the motion build |
| Patio dining seat | 17–20" squares | Dining chair cushions — the weatherproof tier |
Common seat decks and their typical sizes (typical, always measure):
Seat thickness runs 2–3 inches on chairs and stools — the constraint is knee-to-table clearance, not comfort. Deep seats and benches take more where the frame allows.
Yours differs? That’s the point — we cut to your numbers.
How to Measure a Seat Cushion
- Measure the seat deck, not the old pad — width and depth edge to edge to the nearest quarter inch; on curved or trapezoid decks record front and back widths separately.
- Check how the seat is used: swivel stools and smooth decks want an exact-fit pad, because an exact cut is what stays put.
- Thickness is a clearance decision — sit at the table with the old pad, note the knee room, and match what worked or fix what didn’t.
- Full sets: measure one of each chair type, then count — matched sets leave the factory with the same loft and the same dye lot.

Fabric by the Seat It Serves
The fabric tier should match the seat’s real life: a formal dining chair that hosts holidays can carry velvet; the kitchen chair that seats breakfast every morning wants a wipe-clean woven; the banquette under daily traffic wants the toughest grade in the house. Every tier covers the same foam core — the honest comparison lives in our fabric guide, and outdoor seats carry the weatherproof pool.
