Tobago — a Hampton Bay series guide (identify & re-cushion, 2026)

No published cushion spec for the Tobago line — here’s how to recognize the deep-seating wicker build and order pads cut to your own three measurements.

The Tobago line at a glance

Tobago is a Hampton Bay deep-seating wicker line sold through Home Depot, most often boxed as conversation sets — sofa, loveseat, corner chairs, ottomans, occasional tables — in chunky mixed-brown resin weave over aluminum. The silhouette is the point of the line: wide flat-topped arms, low seat decks, thick lofts — built for lounging, not dining.

Deep-seating sets are also the hardest replacements to source, because every block in the run must match or the line stops lining up. Confirm the line below, measure the old pad or seat deck per block, and we cut Tobago replacement cushions to your three numbers — any of 119 fabrics, built by the workshop that ships them.

Open the Customizer

Check three things: (1) the white label under the seat frame or inside the arm — Hampton Bay model numbers usually start with a supplier code like GLD or THD; (2) your Home Depot order history or the original manual, searchable by “Tobago”; (3) the arms — wide, flat-topped, square-edged wicker arms mark the deep-seating family. Our full measuring guide walks you through it.

How to tell you have the Tobago

The weave is the first tell: Tobago pieces commonly run a chunky, mixed-brown resin wicker — thick strands in alternating tones that read rustic from across a patio — woven over an aluminum frame. Against fine, uniform grey or brown weaves it looks deliberately coarse, almost branch-like.

Proportions finish the ID: flat-topped arms wide enough to rest a drink on, seat decks set low with room for 4-to-6-inch lofts, and backs that curve gently without headrest wings. It’s a conversation-set geometry — if your chairs sit tall and narrow for dining, you’re looking at a different line.

Don’t confuse it with: Sydney (Hampton Bay’s finer, upright wicker dining line) and the wicker build of Charleston (half-round weave, rolled arms). Tobago’s squared shelf arms against Sydney’s slim sweeps is a one-glance split; the model number on your Home Depot receipt or order history settles the rest.

Seasons matter: Home Depot sold Tobago in different piece counts — 4-piece to 7-piece runs — with slightly different arm heights and pad lofts across model years. Blocks from one run don’t always match the next, which is why we cut to your measurements instead of a single assumed chart.

Why there is no official Tobago size chart

>What to check >What the Tobago commonly shows >Don’t confuse it with
>Weave >Chunky mixed-brown resin wicker, rustic alternating tones >Fine uniform grey or brown weaves
>Arms >Wide flat-topped shelf arms, square-edged >Sydney’s slim curving arms
>Deck >Low deep seat decks built for 4-6 inch lofts >Tall narrow dining-chair geometry
>Label >White tag under the seat frame or inside an arm, GLD/THD model code >No tag — fall back to the receipt
>Retailer >Home Depot exclusive, boxed conversation sets >Lowe’s wicker conversation lines

Hampton Bay doesn’t publish spec sheets for every line — Tobago’s cushion dimensions were never released in an official manual, and set listings quote the furniture footprint, not the pads. Rather than republish guesses, we leave the size chart out on purpose: measure your own piece and we cut to your numbers.

Reading the chart: identification cues are general guidance from retail listings and owner reports — the tag or your Home Depot order record is the deciding evidence. Tobago shipped in several piece counts and model years, so frames can differ from the cues above.
Independent workshop: CushionMill is not affiliated with Hampton Bay or Home Depot. Series names are used to identify the frame you own — every cushion is cut to your measurements, not sold as an official Tobago part.

Tag gone and receipt lost? Send a photo of the frame and we’ll help narrow the line — then it’s three numbers per cushion and your order is in production.

Measure before you order

Measure first: three minutes with our measuring guide — width, depth, and thickness at the seam, written down per cushion, not per set. Without a factory chart these three numbers are the entire spec: every Tobago cushion we sew is cut to them and nothing else.

Closest Hampton Bay neighbors with live measurement charts: Beverly (deep-seating modulars) and Cambridge (five-piece dining) — each with its own dimension chart. The full 24-series index sits on the Hampton Bay page.

Fabric options & estimated pricing

Same measured cut, every fabric one price. Cotton linen is the durable everyday pick; tech fabric is water-resistant and wipes clean; premium velvet delivers the high-end look and stands up to cat claws.

Weighing fabrics? The fabric menu inside the order flow— the cut is identical, every fabric one price.

>What you order >What we need from you >How pricing works
>Single cushion >Three numbers: width × depth × thickness at the seam >Set by size and foam density — every fabric one price
>Complete piece (seat + back) >Three numbers per cushion block >Priced per piece — order any count, no minimums
>Full Tobago set >A count of pieces, piece by piece >Batched in the configurator — quote confirmed before anything is cut

Custom cushions start from a $45 make-base and scale with size and foam density (35D to 65D) — every fabric one price, the final quote settled at checkout, nothing cut before your numbers are confirmed. Covers close with a zippered closure (covers remove for washing).

Frequently asked questions

Does Hampton Bay still sell Tobago cushions?

Not reliably. The line cycled through Home Depot season by season, and original pads disappear once a run ends. We rebuild Tobago cushions from scratch — to your measurements, in any of 119 fabrics.

Will universal cushions fit a Tobago set?

Rarely well. Deep-seating blocks are cut to their own low decks and thick lofts — a universal pad that’s close in width is usually wrong in depth or height, so the run stops lining up. Measured replacements sit the way the originals did.

How do I confirm my set is really Tobago?

The white label under the seat frame or inside an arm carries the model number (usually behind a GLD or THD supplier code); your Home Depot order history or the original manual names the series outright. The weave and arm cues in the chart above narrow it when the tag is gone.

Can you make cushions without official specs?

Yes — that is our normal route for uncharted lines. You measure width, depth, and thickness per cushion; we re-verify the numbers against the piece count before cutting and sew to your figures.

How much do Tobago replacement cushions cost?

Custom pieces start from a $45 make-base and scale with size and foam density (35D to 65D) — every fabric one price, final quote confirmed before anything is cut.

How long do they take to make and ship?

Every set is cut and sewn after you order — crafted in 4–7 business days, rush service 3–5 business days, then flat-rate shipping to your door; plan on 3–6 weeks door to door.
