Description

The This End Up Classic line is the one line in the catalog with a full published SKU chart — here is what the factory listed, and how to order replacement cushions cut to your own three measurements.

The Classic line at a glance

Classic is the backbone of the This End Up catalog — the box-frame pine furniture sold for indoor living rooms, dens and porches since the 1980s. The seats run 29″L × 24″D × 6″H in sofa width, the backs 29″ wide and 5½″ thick, and the whole line runs on repeating blocks: sofa, loveseat and chair sets that share seat and back dimensions, plus benches in 37″ and 55″ runs.

So we don’t guess. Confirm the piece with the chart below, measure the old pad or the seat deck, and we cut Classic replacement cushions to your figures in any of 119 fabrics — built by the workshop that ships them.

Check three things: (1) the burned or stamped This End Up mark on the pine frame, usually under the seat rail; (2) your original order paperwork — Classic has run for decades under stable SKUs, so receipts name the piece; (3) the block itself — 29 × 24 seats with 6″ loft belong to Classic, not the later Woods End builds. Our full measuring guide walks you through it.

How to tell you have the Classic

Start with the frame: Classic pieces are built from solid pine boxes — tongue-and-groove seats, exposed screws, a finish that reads as camp furniture grown up. The name This End Up comes from the shipping stencil logic of the crates the furniture evolved from; the mark sits on a rail or the underside.

Lean on the SKU: the Classic program published a real parts list, reprinted in the chart below — sofa sets, loveseat sets, chair sets, single seats and backs, ottomans, benches and dining pads each carry a CFF-number. A receipt, a manual or a seller listing that quotes a CFF-number settles which piece you own in one step.

Don’t confuse it with: Woods End, the later porch-and-vacation-home build with 25″L × 29″ × 7″ seats and taller lofts — that line carries 11-prefix SKUs and different bench runs. And don’t confuse flat-slumped originals with a smaller line: Classic seats measure a full 24″ deep, deeper than most indoor box-store seats.

Era matters: Classic pieces in daily living-room duty fail by foam compression — dished seats and flattened bench pads — long before the pine frame gives out. That failure mode is exactly what a measured rebuild fixes.

The published Classic numbers

This End Up published the Classic cushion program as a priced SKU list — the reference figures still circulate on dealer and reseller pages:

Piece Official SKU Published size (as listed) Set price
Classic Sofa Set (3 seats + 3 backs) CFF-01001 seats 29″L × 24″D × 6″H; backs 29″W $480
Classic Loveseat Set (2 + 2) CFF-01002 the same seat and back blocks, two of each $320
Classic Chair Set (seat + back) CFF-01003 seat 24″W × 29″D × 6″ thick; back 24″W $160
Classic Seat Cushion CFF-01111 24″ wide × 29″ deep × 6″ thick $83
Classic Back Cushion CFF-01112 24″ wide × 15″ high × 5½″ thick $78
Classic Ottoman Cushion CFF-01004 29″L × 15″D × 6″H $77
Classic Small Bench Cushion CFF-05016 37 × 14 × 2″ $111
Classic Large Bench Cushion CFF-05018 55 × 14 × 2″ $122
Classic Dining / Study Seat CFF-01122 20 × 17½ × 2¼″ $76
Classic Dining / Study Back CFF-01123 17¾ × 8 × 2¼″ $67
Classic Arm Cushions (pair) CFF-01011 23″L × 12½″H $129

Those are the reference figures as published — the deciding spec for your order is still your own tape. Decades-old pine frames were cut by hand in runs; two “identical” sofas can differ by half an inch, and a recovered pad may already sit on a re-cut foam core. We cut to the numbers you send, not to the chart.

Reading the chart: SKU and price rows are the published This End Up Classic program as listed on dealer references; sizes are as printed and may not match a specific production year. Your three measurements outrank every row.
Independent workshop: CushionMill is not affiliated with This End Up. Collection names are used to identify the frame you own — every cushion is cut to your measurements, not sold as an official This End Up part.

Mark gone and receipt lost? Send a photo of the frame and we’ll help confirm it’s Classic — then it’s three numbers per cushion and your order is in production.

Measure before you order

Measure first: three minutes with our measuring guide — width, depth, and thickness at the seam, written down per cushion, not per set. The published chart above narrows the piece; your tape sets the cut. Every Classic cushion we sew is built to those numbers and nothing else.

The porch-and-vacation-home sibling build is Woods End — deeper seats, taller lofts, 11-prefix SKUs. The full This End Up index sits on the This End Up page. Cushion covers for either line are on the covers page.

Fabric options & estimated pricing

Same measured cut, every fabric one price. Cotton linen is the durable everyday pick; tech fabric is water-resistant and wipes clean; premium velvet delivers the high-end look and stands up to cat claws. Weighing fabrics? The fabric menu inside the order flow keeps the cut identical, every fabric one price.

What you order What we need from you How pricing works
Single cushion Three numbers: width × depth × thickness at the seam Set by size and foam density — every fabric one price
Complete piece (seat + back) Three numbers per cushion block Priced per piece — order any count, no minimums
Full Classic set A count of pieces, piece by piece Batched in the configurator — quote confirmed before anything is cut

Custom cushions are estimated from $200 per typical piece and scale with size and foam density (35D to 65D) — every fabric one price, the final quote settled at checkout, nothing cut before your numbers are confirmed. Covers close with a zippered closure (covers remove for washing).

Frequently asked questions

Does This End Up still sell Classic cushions?

This End Up still sells cushions through its own channels at catalog prices — sofa sets around $480 as listed. The catalog route means stock fabrics and listed sizes; a measured rebuild means any of 119 fabrics and your own numbers.

Will universal cushions fit a This End Up Classic piece?

Rarely well. Classic seats run 29″ long × 24″ deep — deeper than stock indoor charts — and the 5½″ backs and 37″ and 55″ bench runs are odd lengths in nobody’s assortment. Measured replacements sit the way the originals did.

How do I confirm my set is really Classic?

The CFF-number is the fastest route — receipts, manuals and reseller listings all quote it. After that, the burned or stamped mark on the pine frame, and the 29 × 24 × 6 seat block itself.

Can you make cushions without official specs?

Yes — that is our normal route for uncharted lines. You measure width, depth, and thickness per cushion; we re-verify the numbers against the piece count before cutting and sew to your figures.

How much do Classic replacement cushions cost?

Custom pieces are estimated from $200 per typical piece and scale with size and foam density (35D to 65D) — every fabric one price, final quote confirmed before anything is cut.

How long do they take to make and ship?

Every set is cut and sewn after you order — crafted in 4–7 business days, rush service 3–5 business days, then flat-rate shipping to your door; plan on 3–6 weeks door to door.
