How to Measure an Outdoor Seat Cushion
- Measure the seat deck between the rails, arms and back supports — not the old cushion and not the frame’s outside edges; width and depth to the nearest quarter inch.
- Tapered wicker decks get two numbers: front width and back width, entered separately — a single average is how a pad ends up gapping at one end.
- Check the fastening points while the tape is out: weave openings on wicker, crossbars on iron, slat gaps on wood — ties only hold where the frame can catch them.
- Mismatched sets are normal: measure each chair that differs, even in one run — factory chairs drift more than the catalog admits.
