Every Hampton Bay series built for the fire pit, measured to OEM figures on one page — two charted lines, tapered and rectangular builds, and custom re-cuts in any of 119 fabrics.
The Hampton Bay fire pit chair, at a glance
Fire pit chairs are the pieces that ring the flames — angled to face the fire, bought in fours and sixes, and living harder than anything else on the patio. Hampton Bay’s two charted fire-pit lines take opposite geometries: Palm Canyon’s pads are tapered — 23 inches at the front edge, 21 at the back, because the chair itself angles inward toward the pit — while Redwood Valley’s are clean rectangles on fractional widths (23.25-inch seat under a 24-inch back) that standard 24-inch pads never quite match.
Find your series in three steps: (1) read the white label under the seat frame or along the frame rail; (2) measure the seat — if the front and back edges differ by about two inches, you’re holding a Palm Canyon-style taper; (3) still stuck — send a photo and we’ll identify it with you before anything is cut.
Tapered or rectangular — measure the shape first
The Palm Canyon firepit chair tapers because the chair angles inward, ringing the fire pit with every line of sight on the flames. Its seat and back both run 23 inches at the front edge and 21 at the back — a tapered pad cut as a rectangle bunches at the back within a season, so measure both edges and send both widths. The Pacific Grove lounge chair carries the same trapezoid logic in our library.
Redwood Valley takes the other approach: deep, armless-friendly rectangles, no taper — the trap there is the fractional widths, not the geometry. A 23.25-inch seat reads as “about 24” until a 24-inch pad slides on it.
An honest note on fabric and heat: no outdoor cushion fabric is fireproof, and ours are not fire-rated. Keep pads at the furniture maker’s clearance distance from the flame and never let a pad overhang the pit. What fabric choice does change is spark shedding and soot hiding — tight-woven canvas weeps a spark better than plush or looped piles, and dark grounds hide the soot and smoke staining a fire pit set absorbs weekly. And if the set winters in a shed, do not bag the cushions until they are bone-dry — a slightly damp pad sealed in October is a mildew experiment by spring.
Hampton Bay fire pit chair sizes — both series, one chart
| Series | Seat W × D × T (in.) | Back W × H × T (in.) |
|---|---|---|
| Palm Canyon (tapered) | 23 / 21 × 26 × 5 | 23 / 21 × 21 × 5 |
| Redwood Valley (rectangular) | 23.25 × 25.5 × 5 | 24 × 21.5 × 5 |
Seat and back figures for both charted Hampton Bay fire pit lines — all inches, straight from the series pages. The Palm Canyon figures are front / back widths on the taper; measure both edges. The series name links to its full line chart.
Measure before you order
On a fire pit chair, measure the seat’s front and back edges separately — the taper is the whole identification — plus depth and thickness, then the back at its widest and tallest points. Full walkthroughs live here.
Piece-type siblings: the Hampton Bay lounge chair chart (18 series) and the ottoman chart (12 series). The full series index sits on the Hampton Bay page.
Fabric options & estimated pricing
Same measured cut, every fabric one price — and for fireside duty we point you at the tight-woven canvases and dark grounds first. Cotton linen is the durable everyday pick; tech fabric is water-resistant and wipes clean. Weighing fabrics? The fabric menu inside the order flow — the cut is identical, every fabric one price.
| Reference series — fire pit chair (seat + back) | 35D foam | 50D foam | 65D foam |
|---|---|---|---|
| Palm Canyon (tapered) | $294 | $301 | $322 |
| Redwood Valley | $320 | $327 | $350 |
Pricing shown is per complete fire pit chair — seat and back, made to order. Nothing is cut before the final quote is confirmed.

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure a tapered fire pit cushion?
Measure the seat’s front edge and back edge separately, plus the depth and thickness — Palm Canyon runs 23 inches at the front and 21 at the back on both seat and back pads. Send both widths; that’s the only way a tapered pad lies flat.
Does Redwood Valley use tapered cushions too?
No — unlike Palm Canyon, Redwood Valley pads are rectangles. The trap there is the fractional widths: a 23.25-inch seat and 24-inch back read as “about 24” until a standard 24-inch pad slides.
Are these cushions heat-resistant?
Honestly: no outdoor cushion fabric is fireproof, and ours are not fire-rated. Keep pads at the maker’s clearance distance from the flame. What fabric changes is spark shedding and soot hiding — tight-woven canvas and dark grounds are the practical fireside picks.
Should I replace the whole ring at once?
If budget allows, yes — fire pit chairs sit in a circle where every cushion has two immediate neighbors, so one new pad stands out immediately. Ordering the ring in one pass also keeps the dye lot consistent across the set.
How much do Hampton Bay fire pit cushions cost?
Complete fire pit chairs (seat + back) span roughly $294 to $350 across the two charted series at every fabric one price, depending on dimensions and foam density (35D to 65D). Nothing is cut before the final quote is confirmed.
How long do custom fire pit cushions take?
Every set is cut and sewn after you order — crafted in 4–7 business days, rush service 3–5 business days, then flat-rate shipping to your door; plan on 3–6 weeks door to door.
