Custom Boat Cushions, Made to Your Measurements

Factory-direct, cut to your measurements — berths, settees, dinettes, bolsters.

Boat cushions are a different job from patio cushions: hull curves set the shapes, hatches and pedestals cut notches into them, and everything onboard cycles between soaked and bone-dry. The rectangle is the exception on a boat — trapezoid berths, bowed settees and radiused dinette ends are the norm.

We cut cabin and covered-boat seating in 50D+ high-density foam under waterproof Tech Fabric: shake out, stand on edge, air dry, and the cushion recovers. Odd shapes go in as paper templates — the hull curve beats numbers every time it gets a vote.

How to Measure a Boat Cushion

  • V-berth: measure as two trapezoids — each half gets a front width (bow end), back width (aft end), length, and thickness.
  • Paper-template anything with a real curve or notch; numbers alone lose where the hull bends.
  • Settees follow the hull curve: record the bow of the front edge, not just corner-to-corner depth.
  • Measure with the cushions out, on the hard surface underneath, to the nearest quarter inch.

Marine Builds: What We Make and What We Don’t

Sort every piece on the boat into two piles: open exposure and covered. Covered and cabin seating is our lane — 50D+ high-density foam under waterproof Tech Fabric, which shrugs the soak-and-dry cycle that kills low-density foam early. Open-deck seating that lives in constant spray is a reticulated-core job, and we do not carry that core — a marine specialist is the right shop for those pieces, and saying so plainly is cheaper for you than finding out in season three. Fabric logic for the covered middle ground is in the fabric guide.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell standard boat cushion sizes?

Standard sizes too — in 3 clicks: common settee runs land 60–72 × 20 × 4, and typing those numbers into the customizer gets the same instant factory-direct quote — nothing stocked, nothing out of stock. Hull curves and notches are the pieces that go in as templates.

Can I use patio cushions on a boat?

Covered-boat seating, often yes — the build logic transfers. Open-deck and moored-boat seating, no: patio fabrics lack marine UV grades, and patio foam has no drainage path for constant spray.

How do you measure a V-berth cushion?

As two trapezoids: each half gets a front width (bow end), back width (aft end), length, and thickness — and a paper template beats numbers for anything with a real curve to it.

Do you make quick-dry boat cushions?

Not currently — we do not carry a reticulated core. Today we cut 50D+ high-density foam under waterproof Tech Fabric for boat work: shake out, stand on edge, air dry, and the cushion recovers. For seating that lives in constant spray, buy a reticulated core from a marine specialist.

What fabric do boat cushions use?

The marine standards are solution-dyed acrylic (for color life) and marine vinyl (for wipe-down cockpits). A waterproof woven — our Tech Fabric — covers the covered-boat middle ground at a mid price.
